In the final bouts of the Jeter Promotions card at Live! Casino in Hanover, MD, Rockville,MD super welterweight "The Cisco Kid" Francisco Bustos needed just 45 seconds to stop Jauvan "Iceman" John of Newport News, VA.
Bustos landed a crushing left hand to the body that turned John around and dropped him to his knees in the Bustos corner. John could not beat referee Kenny Chevalier's 10 count.
Bustos defeats John for the second straight time (he won a four-round unanimous decision in Laurel, MD in June) and is now 8-0, five KO's. John falls to 2-7-1.
Also, Ivan "The Volk" Golub of Miami, FL won a relatively easy 10-round unanimous decision over Lanardo "Pain Server" Tyner of Deerborn, MI to capture the WBC USNBC Welterweight title. Golub was in complete control of the bout, beating Tyner to the punch throughout the contest. Tyner was not hurt by any of the punches but was not returning any offense. Judges David Braslow and Paul Wallace saw the bout 99-91 while judge John Gradowski saw the bout 100-88. Golub is now 20-1, 13 KO's while Tyner is 34-13-2, 21 KO's.
Jeter Promotions are led by former WBC Fecarbox Middleweight champion Tony "Mo Better" Jeter and his wife Christen. The matchmaker was Brian Dillon. The ring announcer was Mark Fratto. The attendance was 1,200.
