Amelia Moore Wins Gold In Spain!

Congratulations to Alexandria, VA's Amelia Moore who captured a gold medal today at the Boxam Tournament in Castellon, Spain!  Moore won her first gold in an international tournament.

Moore won her third straight unanimous decision in the 141 Pound division, defeating Stephanie Pinero of Puerto Rico in the championship final.  Moore was part of a USA Elite squad who won five golds, three silvers and one bronze during the tournament.

Clark, Johnson Drop Bouts In Brooklyn!

Tough night for two Beltway Boxers at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY.  Washington, DC super middleweight Gregory "Glizzy" Clark lost by first-round TKO to undefeated Edgar Berlanga of New York City.  Clark moved throughout the round but Berlanga was able to stalk Clark and landed an overhand right to drop him for the first knockdown.  Clark succumbed to a flurry of punches for the second knockdown followed by a left hook to the body to drop Clark for the third and final time.  No word on the official time of the knockout.  Clark's record evens to 3-3-1, one KO while Berlanga remains perfect at 9-0, nine KO's and all nine knockouts have come in the first round.

Also on the card, Upper Marlboro, MD cruiserweight Charles Johnson lost by four-round unanimous decision to the debuting Giovanni Scuderi of Italy.  Again, no word on the scores but reports say the bout was a close one.  Johnson is now 1-2, one KO.

Moore Advances To Boxam Tournament Finals!

Alexandria, VA's Amelia Moore has an opportunity to win a gold medal in her first international competition.

At the Boxam Tournament in Castellon, Spain, Moore won her semifinal bout over Melissa Noemi Gonzalez Tudge of Spain by unanimous decision. Moore will be one of eight Americans that have a chance for a gold medal.

Moore advanced to the tournament semifinals with a unanimous decision win over Jessica Messina of Australia.  Today, she battles Melissa Noemi Gonzalez Tudge of Spain.

Clark, Johnson Tip Scales in Brooklyn!

Gregory Clark and Charles Johnson weighed in for their bouts Saturday at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY.

Clark tipped the scales at 162 pounds for his six-round bout against Edgar Berlanga, who came in at 163 pounds.  Johnson weighed 199 pounds for his four-rounder against Giovanni Scuderi, who came in at 198.3 pounds.

All-Beltway Matchups Highlight September 29th Card at Rosecroft Raceway!

The Cynation Sports promotions card that will take place on Saturday, September 29th at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD will feature a number of bouts pitting Beltway Boxers against one another.

In a six-round middleweight bout, "The Cisco Kid" Francisco Bustos of Rockville, MD will risk his undefeated record when he faces "Dangerous" Donald Wallace of Baltimore, MD.  Bustos (8-0, five KO's) comes off back-to-back wins over Jauvan John.  On June 16, Bustos won a four-round unanimous decision at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD.  Then on August 18th, Bustos needed just 45 seconds to knock out John at Live! Casino in Hanover, MD.

Wallace (3-1-1, two KO's) also fought on the August 18th card at Live! Casino and scored a tough sixth-round TKO over Ashton Sykes in one of the best Beltway bouts of 2018.

In another six-round contest, "The Red Comet" Dante Cox of Elkridge, MD will take on Mack "Papi" Allison IV of Baltimore in a lightweight showdown.  Cox (3-0, two KO's) battled in front of friends and co-workers in his last outing on the August 18th Live! Casino card and scored a third-round TKO over Javon Webb.  Cox is a bartender at a restaurant in the Casino.  Allison (8-1-1, seven KO's) bounced back from suffering his first pro loss by winning a six-round unanimous decision over Rynell Griffin on August 4th in Sterling, VA.

In a bout scheduled for six rounds at super middleweight, District Heights, MD super middleweight Jason Bell will compete in his first six-rounder when he battles Genc Pllana of Hagerstown, MD.  Bell (3-0, one KO) last fought on October 14th and won a four-round unanimous decision over Alan Stevenson in Springfield, VA.  This will also be the first six-round contest for Pllana (1-0, one KO) who won his pro debut on October 19th in Washington, DC and knocked out Dameron Kirby in the first round.   Pllana is trained by Beltway Boxing Legend and three-time world champion Simon Brown.

Bell's twin brother, Justin (3-0, two KO's) will also be in a six-round super middleweight contest as he battles Eric Moon of Marietta, GA.   Justin Bell also fought on the October 14th card in Springfield and scored a second-round TKO over Ben D. Williams.  Moon (8-1, six KO's) last fought on August 10th and won an eight-round unanimous decision over Christopher Brooker in Philadelphia, PA.

In other bouts on the card, Hagerstown super welterweight Jonathan Burrs looks for his first victory when he battles Bryant Costello of Humacao, Puerto Rico in a four-round contest.  Burrs (0-1) lost his pro debut by four-round unanimous decision on August 10th in Philadelphia, PA.  Costello's pro debut on August 11th in Salisbury, NC against David Ricardo Perez ended in a no-contest due to an unintentional foul.

Heavyweight Nathan Copeland of Capitol Heights, MD will make his pro debut against Ricco Ralston of Tennessee (0-0-1) and Newport News, VA heavyweight Jerry "Slug" Forrest (20-2, 16 KO's) will be in a six-round bout against Danyelle "Southern Boy" Williams of Owatonna, MN by way of Alabama (3-1, one KO).  In his last outings, Forrest scored two straight knockout victories over Miree Coleman.  The first victory, a second-round stoppage on April 14th in Norfolk, VA, earned Forrest the UBF All-Americas Heavyweight title.  Coleman got his rematch on the August 4th card in Sterling and was stopped in the third round.

Williams (3-1, one KO) has fought his last three bouts at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN, winning two of the contests.  In his last outing, Williams won by fourth-round unanimous decision over Van Goodman on March 9th.

Beltway Boxers Battle In Brooklyn September 29th!

Two Beltway Boxers will be in action on Saturday, September 29th at the King's Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. 

Washington, DC super middleweight Gregory "Glizzy" Clark will be in a six-round contest against undefeated Edgar Berlanga of New York City.  Clark (3-2-1, one KO) looks to bounce back from a six-round unanimous decision loss to Carlos Monroe on June 30th in Greensboro, NC.  Clark may have a tough time against Berlanga who has a perfect record (8-0, eight KO's) with all of his knockouts coming in the first round.  Berlanga stopped Aaron Garcia on June 9th at the King's Theatre.

Also, Upper Marlboro, MD cruiserweight Charles Johnson will be in a four-round bout with the debuting Giovanni Scuderi of Brooklyn by way of Catania, Italy.  Johnson (1-1, one KO) comes off his first pro victory, a third-round TKO over Chester Stewart on August 18th at the Maryland Live Casino in Hanover, MD.

Madison Wins Unanimous Decision In Bethlehem, PA!

Owings Mills, MD heavyweight Colby Madison has captured a six-round unanimous decision victory over Nicoy Clarke of Jersey City, NJ tonight at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, PA.

Madison won by shutout on two of the three cards, 60-54.  Another card scored the bout 59-55.  Madison remains undefeated at 7-0-2, four KO's while Clarke falls to an even 2-2.

Madison Weighs 241 For Six-Rounder In Bethlehem, PA!

Owings Mills, MD heavyweight Colby Madison will be in a six-round contest against Nicoy Clarke of Jersey City, NJ tonight at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, PA.

Madison (6-0-2, four KO's) comes off a six-round majority draw against Guillermo Del Rio on April 6th in Philadelphia, PA.  Clarke (2-1) last fought on August 10th and won a four-round majority decision over Jose Nunez in Philadelphia.  This will be the second boxer from the Beltway Clarke has faced.  Clarke won a four-round unanimous decision over Ralph Alexander on May 7th in Philadelphia.

The two weighed in for the bout on Monday with Madison coming in at 241 pounds while Clarke tipped the scales at 211 1/2 pounds.  The card will be shown live on Fight Night Live on Facebook beginning at 7 PM ET.

Amelia Moore Heads To Spain For Boxam Tournament!

Best wishes to Alexandria, VA's Amelia Moore, who will be a part of Team USA's Elite Women's squad competing in the 2018 Boxam Tournament in Castellon, Spain.  The tournament is from Friday, September 28th through Sunday, September 30th. 

This tournament is very important for Team USA because it will help prepare them for the Elite World Championships in New Dehli, India in November.  Moore will join a number of teammates who are international medalists like Christina Cruz of New York City and Virginia Fuchs of Kemah, TX.

Beltway Boxers Victorious In Virginia!

A number of Beltway Boxers were victorious on the T.A.C. Promotions card at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA on Saturday, September 22nd.

Undefeated Hyattsville, MD super lightweight Patrick "YG Pat" Harris won an eight-round unanimous decision over Stephon McIntyre of Atlanta, GA to win the vacant American Boxing Federation Colonial Atlantic Super Lightweight title.  Harris knocked down McIntyre in the third round and won the bout by shutout (80-71) on all three scorecards.   Harris's record is now 14-0, eight KO's.  McIntyre drops to 3-45-4, one KO.

Waldorf, MD welterweight Rashad "Code Blue" Kilpatrick won a four-round majority decision over Carlos Pena of Erie, PA.  According to reports, Pena got off to a good start in the bout but Kilpatrick picked up the pace and went on to the victory.  No words on the scores.  Kilpatrick is now 3-0, one KO while Pena falls to 5-26-2, four KO's.

Another Waldorf boxer, heavyweight Kwasi "Hollywood" Horton, lost his pro debut to Michael Davis of Cleveland, OH.  Horton did knock down Davis in the first round but Davis was able to recover and win the bout by unanimous decision.  Davis wins for just the second time and is now 2-32.

In other bouts on the card, Catskill, NY light heavyweight Alvin "Iron Majik" Vermall, Jr. scored a sixth-round TKO over "The Hawaiian Nightmare" Rocky Smith of Muskegon, MI by way of Honolulu, HI.  Vermall stepped up his attack in the fifth and sixth rounds forcing referee Mark D'Atillio to stop the bout at 1:48.  Vermall bounced back from suffering his first pro loss in May and is now 16-1-1, 13 KO's.  Smith falls to 13-8, 11 KO's.

Welterweight Anthony "Juice" Young won a six-round split decision over Donald "Bulldog" Ward of West Memphis, AR.  Young won by scores of 58-56 on two scorecards while Ward captured one card by the same score.  Young has now won eight straight bouts and raises his record to 19-2, six KO's.  Ward's record is now 10-8-1, four KO's.

Nis, Serbia light heavyweight Filip Stankovic won a four-round unanimous decision over Philadelphia, PA light heavyweight Greg Hackett.  No word on the scores.  Stankovic is 3-0 while Hackett is 2-18-1.

Jason "Lethal" Kelly, a middleweight from Lethbridge, Ontario, Canada, won a four-round unanimous decision over Abner "Bam Bam" Guadalupe of The Bronx, NY.  Again, no word on the scores.

Anthony Hamilton heads T.A.C. Promotions.  The matchmaker was Cedric Harden.

Outlaw Win Unanimous Decision In Bowie!

Bowie, MD super lightweight Greg "Sharpshooter" Outlaw won a six-round unanimous decision over Rashad Bogar of Newark, NJ in front of his home crowd during the main event of the Shabazz Brothers/Real Deal Boxing Promotions card at the A.C. Jordan Arena at Bowie State University.  A crowd of approximately 2,000 was in attendance.

Outlaw overcame an injured left hand to outduel Bogar in the contest.  Despite his injury, the 2016 Bowie State University graduate was able to show enough aggression to win the bout by scores of 58-56, 60-54 and 59-55.  Outlaw, a Real Deal Promotions signee, remains undefeated at 6-0, two KO's while Bogar falls to 4-9-1, two KO's.

The co-feature was an awkward All-Baltimore, MD light heavyweight affair between Travis "Seveer" Reeves and Devin "Bite" Butcher.  Reeves would win a slow-paced, eight-round contest by unanimous decision but neither man seemed to be interested in engaging the other.  Reeves was hesitant in pressuring Butcher while Butcher was content to pose and only occasionally throw jabs.  Reeves scored a flash knockdown in the fourth round with a short left hand.  In the fifth, referee Brent Bovell took a point away from Butcher for excessive holding.  The bout meandered onto its conclusion with Reeves winning by scores of 77-73, 80-69 and 78-72. Reeves is now 16-3-2, seven KO's while Butcher falls to 6-3, three KO's.

Waldorf, MD featherweight Jordan "Shortdog" White scored a fourth-round TKO over Francisco "Monkey" Rodriguez of Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico.  White dominated Rodriguez throughout the contest scoring two knockdowns with right hands in the second round before pressuring him in the fourth round.  White would knock down Rodriguez once more in the fourth round before referee Kenny Chevalier would stop the contest at 1:34.  White bounces back from suffering his first pro loss in May of 2017 and is now 5-1, four KO's.  Rodriguez's record drops to 4-5-1.

Forestville, MD middleweight Alantez "SlyAza" Fox returned to action and won a dominant eight-round unanimous decision over former world title contender Elvin Ayala of Guilford, CT.  In his first contest after undergoing left shoulder and elbow surgery after his loss to Demetrius Andrade in October, Fox showed no ill effects as he was able to use his 6'5" height and reach advantage to good use, landing quality jabs and body shots. Ayala, who contended for a world title in 2008, landed occasional shots but was unable to put on consistent pressure.  All three judges (Steve Rados, Don Risher and Paul Wallace) saw a shutout for Fox, 80-72.  Fox rases his record to 24-1-1, 11 KO's while Ayala drops to 29-11-1, 13 KO's.

In women's action, Bladensburg, MD lightweight "The Dark Menace" Tiara Brown scored an impressive fourth-round TKO over Jasmine "Red" Clarkson of Cedar Hill, TX.  Brown broke Clarkson down throughout the bout, increasing the offensive pressure during every round.  There were no knockdowns during the contest but at the end of the fourth round, ringside doctors saw enough to not allow Clarkson to come out for the fifth round.  Brown, who fought for the first time under the DiBella Entertainment Promotions banner, remains undefeated at 5-0, three KO's.  Clarkson falls to 4-13.

Baltimore cruiserweight Muhsin "Spartan" Cason scored a second-round TKO over the debuting Donnell Daniels of Suitland, MD.  Cason pressured Daniels throughout the contest, eventually dropping Daniels to one knee with a right hand in the second round.  Moments later, a brutal Cason left hand would send Daniels back to the canvas forcing ringside doctors to tell referee Chevalier to wave off the bout at 2:44.  Cason, the younger brother of former undisputed world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, Sr., gets his first pro knockout and is now 3-0, one KO.

In a battle of debuting super welterweights, Mark "Sayless" Duncan of Clarksburg, MD registered a second-round TKO over Johnnell Christmas of Conway, AR.  Duncan was very impressive with his offensive onslaught in the bout, knocking down Christmas with a left hand to the body in the first round.  Christmas not only had to deal with Duncan's offensive onslaught, he also seemed to have difficulty with his boots as he was slipping continually in the contest.  Duncan would finish Christmas with a right hand to the body that forced referee Chevalier to stop the contest at 2:31 of the second round. 

Another debuting super welterweight, Maurice "M3G" Winslow of Stone Mountain, GA, scored an impressive second-round TKO over Alberto"Rooster" Delgado of Roanoke, VA.  Winslow was on the offensive from the opening bell, hitting Delgado with left and right hooks to Delgado's face.  In the second round, Winslow increased his onslaught and dominated Delgado with crushing shots.  Delgado could not come out for the third round.   The victory was a fitting celebration of Winslow's 18th birthday.  Delgado remains winless at 0-5-3.

Landover, MD lightweight Tyrek "I.G.B. (I Get Busy)" Irby won a four-round unanimous decision over Lamont White of Washington, DC.  Much like Irby did when the two men met in February of 2017, Irby was able to control the offensive flow of the bout.  White, who has never been knocked down, provided very little offense in the bout but was still able to get the best out of Irby, who won by shutout, 40-36.  Irby remains undefeated at 5-0, two KO's.  White drops to 1-15, one KO.

The opening bout ended with a crushing first-round knockout as "The Egyptian Magician" Omar Kabary Saleem of Brooklyn, NY brutally stopped the debuting Malik Jenkins of Philadelphia, PA.  The two men were in a clinch and Jenkins was trying to complain to referee Chevalier about headbutts from Saleem.  However, Chevalier had not stopped the action to hear the complaint and Saleem landed a number of crushing shots that sent Jenkins crashing face first to the canvas.  Chevalier immediately stopped the bout at 1:56 of the first.  After observations by the doctors and EMT's, Jenkins was able to leave the ring under his own power.  Saleem is now 5-0, two KO's.

The matchmaker for the card was "The Boxing Diva" Renee Aiken.  The ring announcer was Henry "Discombobulating" Jones.

Springfield, VA Card Also Coming Together!

There are some bouts that have been scheduled for the T.A.C. Promotions card on Saturday, September 22nd at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA. 

Undefeated Hyattsville, MD super lightweight Patrick "YG Pat" Harris is slated to be in the main event in an American Boxing Federation Colonial Atlantic Super Lightweight title bout against an opponent to be determined.  Harris (13-0, eight KO's) last fought on May 12th and scored a third-round TKO over Rynell Griffin in Sterling, VA.

Promoters say there are a total of four Beltway Boxers slated for this card.  However, the only other one we can confirm is debuting Waldorf, MD heavyweight Kwasi Horton. Springfield, VA middleweight Edgar Torres was scheduled to be on the card. However, Torres suffered an injury and is off the card. There are other bouts scheduled that feature some highly-regarded out-of-town boxers.

Welterweight Anthony "Juice" Young of Atlantic City, NJ will be in an eight-und contest against Donald "Bulldog" Ward of West Memphis, AR. Young (18-2, six KO's) has not fought since August of 2017 when he won a six-round unanimous decision over Carlos Winston Velasquez in Atlantic City.  Young fought at the ABC Sports complex in March of 2014 and scored a second-round TKO over Reggie Nash.

Ward (10-7-1, four KO's) comes off an eight-round unanimous victory over Charlis Holifield on July 21st in Memphis, TN.  The win earned Ward the vacant ABF USA Mid-American Welterweight title.

Also on the card will be another eight-round contest between light heavyweights Alvin "Iron Majik" Varmall, Jr. of Catskill, NY and "The Hawaiian Nightmare" Rocky Smith of Muskegon, MI by way of Honolulu, HI.  Varmall (15-1-1, 12 KO's) looks to bounce back from his first pro loss, an eight-round unanimous decision to Charles Foster on May 11th in Philadelphia, PA.  Smith (13-7, 11 KO's) has only fought once since 2006 and lost a six-round unanimous decision to Taylor Grey Duerr in his last outing on July 13th in Detroit, MI.

There will also be a scheduled four-round contest between Bronx, NY super welterweight Abner "Bam Bam" Guadalupe and Jason Kelly of Brockville, Ontario, Canada.  Guadalupe (1-0-1) won his first pro contest in his last outing, winning a four-round unanimous decision over David Ricardo Perez on February 10th in New Cumberland, WVA.  Kelly (2-5-1) broke a two-bout losing streak with a four-round majority decision win over Joe Elliott on July 14th in Belleville, Canada.

Bowie State University Card Coming Together!

The Shabazz Brothers/Real Deal Boxing Promotions card that will be held on Saturday, September 22 at the A.C. Jordan Arena on the campus of Bowie State University in Bowie, MD is close to completion as a number of bouts are slated for the card.

Bowie resident and 2016 Bowie State graduate Greg "The Sharpshooter" Outlaw is slated to headline the card.  Outlaw (6-0, two KO's) will be in a scheduled six-round bout against Rashad Bogar of Newark, NJ.  Outlaw, a Real Deal Promotions signee, last fought on June 8th and scored a second-round TKO over Dan Murray in Atlantic City, NJ.  Bogar (4-8-1, two KO's) will try to break a four-bout losing streak that includes a six-round unanimous decision loss to John Bauza on September 8th in Atlantic City.

The co-feature will be an eight-round all-Baltimore, MD, light heavyweight affair between Travis "Seveer" Reeves and Devin "Bite" Butcher.  Reeves (15-3-2, seven KO's) looks to bounce back from a 12th round TKO loss to Karo Murat on March 24th in Inselparkhalle, Germany.  The loss broke a 12-bout winning streak.  Butcher (6-2, three KO's) returns to action after losing a six-round unanimous decision to Aidos Yerbossynuly in June of 2017 in Baltimore.

Another eight-round contest is slated to feature returning middleweight Alantez "SlyAza" Fox of Forestville, MD.  Fox (23-1-1, 11 KO's) returns to action after suffering a shoulder injury in his October 21st 12-round unanimous decision loss to Demetrius Andrade in Verona, NY.  Fox fought the entire Andrade bout with the separated shoulder.  No word yet on an opponent for Fox on this card.

Bladensburg, MD featherweight "The Dark Menace" Tiara Brown makes her DiBella Entertainment Promotions debut in a four-round bout against Jasmine Clarkson of Cedar Hill, TX.  Brown (5-0, three KO's) comes off a fifth-round TKO victory over Brittany Cruz on June 30th in Washington, DC. Clarkson (4-12) will be looking to break a five-bout losing streak including her last bout where she lost a four-round unanimous decision to Elvina White on August 8th in Hollywood, CA.

Clarkson is the younger sister of light heavyweight contender Samuel Clarkson and will compete against a Beltway Boxer for the second time.  Clarkson lost an eight-round unanimous decision to Jennifer Salinas in June of 2015 in Woodlawn, MD.

Landover, MD lightweight Tyrek "I.G.B." Irby will be in a four-round contest against Latorie "War Machine" Woodberry of Roanoke, VA. Irby (4-0, two KO's) has not fought since August of 2017 when he scored a first-round KO over Anthony Alston in Washington, DC.  Woodberry (2-7-2) looks to bounce back from a four-round majority decision to Rosalindo Morales on September 2nd in New Cumberland, WVA. 

Also slated to be on this card are Baltimore cruiserweight Muhsin Cason (2-0),  DC featherweight Jordan "Shortdog" White (4-1, three KO's) and debuting Baltimore middleweight Mark Duncan.

The weigh-in for the card is open to the public and will take place on Friday, September 21st at Theodore McKeldin Gymnasium on the campus of Bowie State University located at 14000 Jericho Park Road in Bowie, MD and will begin at 4 PM ET.

Grayton Loses Unanimous Decision; Williams, Tazhibay Win By UD In Philadelphia!

Beltway Boxers won two of three bouts Friday night at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.  The one loss came in the co-feature bout on the Kings Promotions card as Washington, DC welterweight David "Day Day" Grayton dropped a 10-round unanimous decision to undefeated Terrell "Tyger" Williams of Los Angeles, CA.

Grayton dug himself a hole early in the contest as he was knocked down in both the first and second rounds.  Grayton would have a quality third round before Williams would gain control of the middle rounds.  Williams would score another knockdown in the sixth round.  As the bout reached the final stages, Grayton tried to pressure and throw power shots as Williams started to show signs of fatigue.  However, the points Williams piled up early in the bout proved to be too much for Grayton to overcome.  Grayton lost by scores of 97-92, 98-89 and 99-90.  The loss is Grayton's second in a row and he falls to 15-3-1, 11 KO's.  Williams remains undefeated at 17-0, 13 KO's.

Another DC welter,"The Next Big Thing" Keeshawn Williams, looked very impressive in a four-round unanimous decision victory over Farhad "The Puncher" Fatulla of Salt Lake City, UT by way of Azerbaijan.  Williams used a lot of jabs in the contest to keep Fatulla at bay and would win the contest by shutout, 40-36 across the board.  Williams is now 3-0-1, one KO while Fatulla falls to 1-2.

A third DC welterweight, Shynggyskhan Tazhibay, also won by four-round unanimous decision over late sub Justin "King" Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA.  Tazhibay was able to handle his opponent despite coming close to losing a point for hitting Johnson behind the head.  Tazhibay was able to win by scores of 39-37 and 40-36 to raise his record to 7-0, two KO's.  Johnson is now 6-18-6.

Franchon Crews Dezurn Wins WBC Super Middleweight Championship With Majority Decision!

Congratulations to Baltimore, MD super middleweight "The Heavy Hitting Diva" Franchon Crews Dezurn who has captured a 10-round majority decision over Maricela "La Diva" Cornejo of Los Angeles, CA to win the vacant WBC Super Middleweight championship tonight at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  The bout was televised by ESPN2.

Dezurn used her power and strong body shots to wear down Cornejo in the middle portion of the bout.  Cornejo could not overcome Dezurn's long and strong right hand and at times had to hold on to Dezurn to stop her onslaught.

Somehow, one judge, Patricia Morse Jarman saw the bout a draw, 95-95.  However, Jarman was overruled by judges Tim Cheatham and Dave Moretti who both scored the bout for Dezurn, 99-91.

Dezurn, a 17-time amateur national champion and two-time Olympic alternate, is now a world champion after just five pro fights (4-1, one KO).  Cornejo's record drops to 12-3, five KO's.

Beltway Boxers Tip Scales in Philadelphia!

Three Beltway Boxers weighed in for Friday bouts at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

David Grayton came in at 145.7 for his 10-round co-feature bout with Terrell Williams, who came in at 145.9 pounds.

Keeshawn Williams came in at 148.9 pounds for his four-round contest against Farhad Fatulla, who weighed 147.1 pounds.

Shynggyskhan Tazhibay weighed 145.9 pounds for his six-round tilt against late sub Justin Johnson, who came in at 144.7 pounds.  Johnson is a late sub in this bout from Pittsburgh, PA who has a record of 6-17-6.

The card will be shown live on Facebook on the Fight Night Live page.  The card is scheduled to begin at 7 PM ET.

Crews Dezurn Weighs 167.6 For 10-Round Title Bout In Las Vegas!

Franchon Crews Dezurn tipped the scales at 167.6 pounds for her 10-round bout against Maricela Conejo tonight at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  Conejo came in at 166.2.  The bout is for the vacant interim WBC Super Middleweight title and is scheduled to be shown on ESPN2.  The telecast begins at 8 PM ET.

Artis, Jr. Suffers Second-Round TKO In Brooklyn!

Severn, MD heavyweight Sherman Artis, Jr. lost by second-round TKO to Clayton Laurent, Jr. of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Artis had to deal with a huge weight disparity, coming in at 233 pounds to Laurent's 291.6.  Laurent pummeled Artis throughout the contest, knocking him down three times in the second round before the bout was stopped at 2:56.

Artis's record is now even at 3-3 while Laurent, an Olympian in 2016 and the stepson of former world champion Julian Jackson, is now 2-0, two KO's.

Marin Wins IBF Intercontinental Super Flyweight Title With Split Decision; Dyer, Toledo Score TKO's!

Three more results from a very busy Saturday evening for Beltway Boxers around the country.  Bethesda, MD super flyweight Alexandru "Spartan" Marin won a tough 10-round split decision over "The Aloha Kid" Bruno Escalante of Redwood City, CA to capture the vacant IBF Intercontinental Super Flyweight championship at the Forum in Inglewood, CA.

Marin was able to press Escalante primarily because of his height and reach advantages throughout the contest.  However, this was the first time that his defense was tested and Escalante was able to hit Marin with punches.  A left hand caused a cut under Marin's right eyebrow.

As the bout wore on, Marin remained offensive-minded but he gave up the height advantage he had and Escalante landed more punches.  However, Marin's activity throughout the contest gave him the edge on two of the judge's scorecards, 96-94 and 98-92.  Escalante won one card, 97-93.

Marin, who is ranked sixth by the IBF and 12th by the WBO, remains undefeated at 17-0, 11 KO's while Escalante falls to 17-4, seven KO's.

Meanwhile at the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, two locals scored TKO's.  Baltimore, MD lightweight Jahmal Dyer scored a fourth-round TKO over Marcos Lugo of Vineland, NJ.  Dyer knocked down Lugo in the first round, severely wobbled him in the second and knocked him down again in the fourth before referee Ricky Vera stopped the bout at 1:29. Dyer's record rises to 6-1, four KO's while Lugo is 0-2.

Also, Baltimore light heavyweight Travis "Holy" Toledo registered a second-round TKO over Tahlik Taylor of Freeport, NY.  Toledo knocked Taylor down twice in the second before referee Harvey Dock called the bout off at 2:02.  Toledo is now 2-0, two KO's while Taylor drops 3-12-1, one KO.

Fassinou Drops Unanimous Decision In Brooklyn!

Fort Washington, MD super featherweight Fatiou Fassinou has lost an eight-round unanimous decision to undefeated Chris Colbert of Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  All three judges scored a shutout for Colbert, 80-72.  Fassinou, a native of Benin, falls to 28-11-3, 15 KO's while Colbert is 9-0, three KO's.

Quarles Wins Split Decision In Brooklyn!

Alexandria, VA middleweight Brandon "Bulldog" Quarles has won an eight-round split decision over Marcus Willis of Fort Myers, FL tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.  Quarles won the bout on two scorecards, 77-75 and 78-74 while Willis took one card, 78-74.

Quarles's record rises to 20-4-1, 10 KO's while Myers falls to 18-6-2, five KO's.  Quarles has won two straight and seven of his last eight contests.

Three Locals Tip Scales In Brooklyn, NY!

Three Beltway Boxers weighed in for Saturday contests at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Brandon Quarles tipped the scales at 155.8 pounds for his eight-round contest against Marcus Willis.  Willis came in at 155.4 pounds.

Sherman Artis, Jr. came in at 233 pounds for his four-round bout against Clayton Laurent, Jr. who tipped the scales at a whopping 291.6 pounds.

Fatiou Fassinou weighed 131.2 pounds for his eight-round tilt against Chris Colbert, who weighed 131.8 pounds. Fassinou (28-10-3, 15 KO's) is a native of Cotonou, Benin who now lives in Fort Washington, MD and is a late addition to this card.  Colbert (8-0, three KO's) competes out of Brooklyn.

Dyer, Toledo Tip Scales In Atlantic City!

Beltway Boxers Jahmal Dyer and Travis Toledo weighed in for their four-round bouts Saturday
at the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. 

Dyer weighed in at 132.9 pounds for his bout against Marco Lugo, who came in at 131 pounds.  Toledo tipped the toledos at 172.3 pounds for his contest against Tahlik Taylor, who weighed 175.3 pounds.

Marin Weighs 114.8 For 10-Round IBF International Title Bout In Inglewood!

Alexandru Marin originally tipped the scales at 115.2 pounds for the 10-round IBF International Super Flyweight title bout against Bruno Escalante Saturday at the Forum in Inglewood, CA. That was slightly over the Super Flyweight limit of 115 pounds. Marin had to weigh again and came in at 114.8 pounds. Escalante came in at 114.2 pounds.

The bout will be streamed live on www.360promotions.us or on 360 Promotions's Facebook and Twitter platforms.  The bout will headline the undercard that will begin at 7 PM ET.

Beltway Boxers Shown On Facebook Fight Night Live September 14th From Philadelphia!

Here's an update on the King's Promotions card on Friday, September 14th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

The card, which features three Washington, DC welterweights, will be shown live on Fight Night Live on Facebook. The 10-round welterweight contest between David "Day Day" Grayton (15-2-1, 11 KO's) and undefeated Terrell Williams of Los Angeles, CA (16-0, 13 KO's) will be the co-feature on the card.

Shynggyskhan Tazhibay (6-0, two KO's) will have a different opponent for his six-round contest.  Tazhibay will take on Virgil Winfield of Concord, NC (1-0, one KO).  Winfield made his pro debut on August 11th in Salisbury, NC and scored a first-round TKO over Juwon Felton.

Also, Keeshawn Williams now has an opponent for this card.  Williams (2-0-1, one KO) will be in a four-round contest against Farhad Fatulla of Salt Lake City, UT by way of Azerbaijan.  Fatulla (1-1) looks to bounce back from a four-round unanimous decision loss to Alexis Gaytan in August of 2017 in Humble, TX.

No word yet on what time the Fight Night Live broadcast is scheduled to begin on September 14th.

September 8th Update: Marin Bout Livestream From Inglewood; Toledo Added To New Jersey Card!

Here are a couple of updates from a very busy September 8th date.  The 10-round bout for the vacant IBF International Super Flyweight championship between Bethesda, MD's Alexandru "Spartan" Marin and Bruno Escalante of Redwood City, CA will be the feature bout on the undercard of "SuperFly 3" from the Forum in Inglewood, CA and will be streamed live on the 360 Promotions website www.360Promotions.us and all 360 Promotions’ Social Media Platforms, (Facebook and Twitter).  The undercard is scheduled to get underway at 7 PM ET.

 Meanwhile, another Beltway Boxer is slated to compete on what will be a very busy day.  Baltimore, MD light heavyweight Travis "Holy" Toledo will be in a four-round contest against Tahlik Taylor of Freeport, NY at the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  Toledo, a native of The Bronx, NY (1-0, one KO) made his pro debut on June 29th and scored a second-round TKO over Marvin Johnson at Martin's West in Woodlawn, MD.  Taylor (3-11-1, one KO) also fought his last contest on that June 29th card in Woodlawn and lost a four-round unanimous decision to Sharif Rahman.

Toledo will join Baltimore lightweight Jahmal Dyer on this card.  Dyer (5-1, three KO's) will be in a four-round bout against Marcus Lugo of Vineland, NJ (0-1).
