Kingsville, MD heavyweight Brian "Bam Bam" Haneschlager had a rough time in his professional debut lasting just 49 seconds in his bout with equally debuting Jerome Morris of Darby, PA at the PAL Center in Hockessin, DE.
Despite having a considerable weight advantage, Haneschlager could not compete with Morris's power during the contest. According to boxing reporter JR Jowett, Morris landed an overhand right that wobbled Haneschlager and forced him to hang on to the ropes. Referee Bill Clancy immediately stopped the contest.

Chaney Scores First-Round Knockout In Philadelphia!
Undefeated Baltimore, MD heavyweight Cassius Chaney scored a first-round knockout over Christian "Bravo" Mariscal of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico Saturday at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
Chaney scored the knockout at 2:16 of the first round to raise his record to 15-0, nine KO's. Mariscal falls to 12-3, five KO's.

Harrison Scores First-Round TKO In Returning Bout!
Washington, DC's Dusty Hernandez Harrison's return to boxing did not take very long. On Saturday, Harrison scored a first-round TKO over Bruce "The Rage" Rumbolz of Sterling, IL at the Grand Theater in Albany, IN.
Harrison was never threatened in the contest and he ended the bout with a left hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head that dropped Rumbolz. The Illinois veteran tried to get up but then sank to one knee and the bout was stopped. The time of the knockout was 1:46.

Over the past few years, April has been one of the real busy months for Boxing Along The Beltway. April 2019 will definitely live up to that tradition as we will be extremely busy. Madison Scores Second-Round TKO In Philadelphia!

Owings Mills, MD heavyweight Colby Madison scored a crushing second-round TKO over Emilio Salas of Yonkers, NY by way of Coamo, Puerto Rico Friday at the Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia, PA.
Madison used an almost 30-pound weight advantage well as his power dominated the lighter Salas. Early in the second round, Madison missed a left jab but connected with a quick, devastating right hand that dropped Salas to the canvas. Salas beat referee Gary Rosato's count but was in no condition to continue. The bout was stopped at 23 seconds.
Madison remains undefeated with a record of 8-0-2, five KO's. Salas, who competed for the first time since May of 2016, falls to 5-3-1, three KO's.

Williams Released After Local Shooting Incident!
Undefeated District Heights, MD welterweight and 2018 Beltway Boxing Rookie Of The Year "The Next Big Thing" Keeshawn Williams turned himself into police Wednesday after a double shooting earlier in the week that left one man dead.
Williams has not been charged in the incident and police are investigating whether Williams fired in self defense. Williams was released pending the results of the investigation.
Williams (5-0-1, one KO) just fought this past Sunday, March 24th at MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD where he won a six-round unanimous decision over Evincii Dixon. According to reports, the shooting, which took place at Williams's home in the 5200 block of Daventry Terrace, was the result of a domestic dispute at another location about how Williams was going to divide up his winnings from the bout.
Forty-year-old Damon Proctor was killed in the incident on Monday. A woman was shot in the leg and was treated at the hospital and released. Originally, police thought the gunman was still in the house and local businesses and schools were placed on lockdown.

Walton is truly a survivor. Originally from New Orleans, LA, Walton and his family were decimated by Hurricane Katrina. Walton rescued his mother and baby sister during the hurricane swimming them to safety at age 13. The family moved to Beaumont, TX where they were displaced once again when Hurricane Rita hit the area. Walton played football in high school but was ineligible to compete in his new school in Texas. He turned to the streets where he was eventually convicted of aggravated assault while trying to avenge the murder of his father. Walton was facing 60 years in prison but took a plea deal that allowed him to serve three years. Walton learned how to box during that time.
Both men weighed in for this bout on Wednesday. Rodriguez came in at 148 pounds while Walton tipped the scales at 149 pounds.

Late Walkout Bouts From MGM National Harbor Casino!
Three bouts took place following the main event at MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD on Sunday.
Hyattsville, MD super lightweight Patrick "Y.G. Pat" Harris won a six-round unanimous decision over Bergman “The Snake” Aguilar of San Jose, Costa Rica. Harris was extremely sharp during the contest and dominated the bout, winning by shutout (60-54) on all three judges’s scorecards. Harris remains undefeated at 15-0, eight KO’s while Aguilar falls to 14-5-1, four KO’s.
Ramon Cardenas, a featherweight from San Antonio, TX, won an eight-round split decision over Ryan Lee “Stone” Allen of Jackson, MI. Both men were in a very tough, close battle throughout the contest before Cardenas eeked out the win by scores of 58-56 on two cards. Allen won one card by the same score. Cardenas is now 17-1, nine KO’s while Allen falls to 8-3-1, four KO’s.
Also “The Next Big Thing” Keeshawn Williams of DC won a six-round unanimous decision over Evincii “Prize Fighter” Dixon of Lancaster, PA. Williams was in complete control and won by shutout (60-54) across the board. Williams is now 5-0-1, one KO while Dixon falls to 7-22-2, two KO’s.

L. Peterson Suffers Crushing Knockout Against Lipinets In Main Event!

Washington, DC welterweight and three-time former world champion Lamont Peterson was knocked out in the 10th round by Sergey "Samurai" Lipinets of Beverly Hills, CA in the main event of the card at the MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD.
After the bout, Peterson announced his retirement.
The bout was fought at close range throughout with Peterson being very successful with his body shots early. In the fifth round, the bell rang prematurely but neither boxer seemed to be affected.
In the second half of the bout, Lipinets took control. Lipinets started to land the more telling blows and in the 10th round, he landed a solid right hand that made Peterson stumble. Lipinets would throw a series of blows that dropped Peterson to the canvas. At the same time, Peterson's trainer and father figure, Barry Hunter, threw in the towel, forcing referee Harvey Dock to stop the bout at 2:58 of the 10th.
Peterson's career ends at 34-5-1, 17 KO's. Lipinets, himself a former world champion, is now 15-1, 11 KO's.
Clark Wins Close Co-Feature!
In a close co-feature contest, "The Quiet Assassin" Jamontay Clark of Cincinnati, Oh won a 10-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Vernon "Subzero" Brown of Chicago, IL.
Brown, the shorter of the two boxers, landed the biggest blow of the night with a right hand that made Clark stumble against the ropes in the third round. Referee Kenny Chevalier ruled a knockdown saying the ropes held Clark up. However, Clark was able to withstand any more offense from Brown and come back with punches of his own that landed solidly against Brown.
Clark won by scores of 96-93 (twice) and 95-94 to raise his record to 14-1, seven KO's. Brown loses for the first time and he is 10-1-1, seven KO's.
A. Peterson Battles Mendez To 10-Round Draw!
Washington DC super lightweight Anthony Peterson has battled Argenis "La Tormenta" Mendez to a 10-round draw.
Peterson spent most of the bout on the outside moving side-to-side. Each man took turns initiating the action but neither gained a strong advantage in the exchanges.
Judge John Gradowski saw the bout for Mendez, 96-94 while judge Larry Hazzard, Jr. scored the bout for Peterson by the same score. Judge Paul Wallace saw the draw at 95-95.
Peterson is now 37-1-1, 24 KO's. Mendez is 25-5-2, 12 KO's.
Quarles Drops Split Decision!
Alexandria, VA super welterweight Brandon "Bulldog" Quarles lost by eight-round split decision to Aaron Coley of Hayward, CA.
Coley was the more aggressive boxer in the contest as he was the first to land shots most of the way. Quarles fought gamely and won John Gradowski's scorecard at 77-75. Judges David Braslow and Larry Hazzard, Jr. both saw the bout for Coley, 78-74 and 79-73. Quarles's record drops to 21-5-1, 10 KO's. Coley is now 16-1-2, seven KO's.
Simpson Dominant In Unanimous Decision Victory!
Baltimore, MD super middleweight Lorenzo "Truck" Simpson won a relatively easy four-round unanimous decision over the debuting Jaime Meza of Compton, CA.
Simpson dropped Meza with a straight left hand early in the first round and proceeded to dominate him the rest of the way. Two judges scored the bout 40-35 while one had it 40-36. Simpson is now 3-0, two KO's.
Breedy Wins By Technical Unanimous Decision!
In the first televised contest (FS1) from MGM National Harbor Casino, Hyattsville, MD super featherweight Cobia "The Soldier" Breedy won by six-round technical unanimous decision over Francisco Fuentes of Hemet, CA.
The bout was a very competitive one with Breedy gaining a slight advantage with his punches. Both men were coming forward and a clash of heads seemed inevitable. The clash came 38 seconds into the sixth round and opened a gash on the eye and over the nose of Fuentes. After looking at the cut, ringside doctors said Fuentes could not continue.
Judges Gradowski and Wallace scored the bout 58-56 while Hazzard, Jr. saw the bout 59-55 for Breedy, who remains undefeated at 12-0, three KO's. Fuentes is now 15-8-1, four KO's.
Martin Wins Split Decision At MGM!
Washington, DC welterweight Kareem "Reemo" Martin won a six-round split decision over Joaquin "Chico" Chavez of Commerce, CA.
Martin was the aggressor throughout the contest but Chavez did not back down. Both men landed nice punches but Martin seemed to have an edge. Judges Dave Braslow and John Gradowski both scored the bout for Martin, 60-54 and 59-55, respectively while Larry Hazzard, Jr. saw the fight for Chavez, 59-55. Martin is now 12-2-1, three KO's while Chavez falls to 9-19-3, two KO's.

Hi everyone from MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD for the Premier Boxing Champions/Dibella Entertainment/TGB Promotions card.
Two bouts have already taken place on the card. Clarksburg, MD middleweight Mark "Sayless" Duncan lost by six-round split decision to Arturo Izquierdo of Las Vegas, NV by way of Costa Rica.
Izquierdo had a strong offense in the first two rounds and gained a big advantage when he dropped Duncan with a left hand early in the second round. Duncan, competing in his first six-rounder, was able to come back and make the bout close, getting the win on judge Larry Hazzard, Jr.'s card at 57-56. Judges John Gradowski and Paul Wallace saw the bout at 57-56 for Izquierdo. Duncan loses for the first time as a pro and is now 3-1, three KO's. Izquierdo's record rises to 6-2, two KO's.
In the opening contest, 2018 National Golden Gloves champion Adrian "Playtime " Benton of Cincinnati, Ohio won a four-round unanimous decision over veteran Archie Weah of Monrovia, Liberia. Benton was dominant and won by 40-36 across the board. Weah is now 2-13.

This means three Beltway Boxers will be featured on the preliminary FS1 telecast of the card that will begin at 6 PM ET. Full March 24th Card At MGM National Harbor!
The Premier Boxing Champions, DiBella Entertainment And TGB Promotions card that will be held on Sunday, March 24th at MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD is complete. There are a number of additions and a big change to this card so let's talk about the entire card.
The main event features three-time, two division world champion Lamont Peterson of Washington, DC (35-4-1, 17 KO's) in a 12-round welterweight contest against former IBF Super Lightweight champion Sergey "Samurai" Lipinets of Beverly Hills, CA by way of Kazakhstan (14-1, 10 KO's).

Brown (10-0-1, seven KO's) comes off a first-round knockout win over Marlon Lewis on October 13th in Gary, IN. Clark will serve as a step up in competition for Brown.

Allen (8-2-1, four KO's) is riding a three-bout winning streak including a first-round knockout win over Javier Miranda on December 9th in Tijuana, Mexico.
Making his pro debut on this card will be Cincinnati, OH super lightweight Adrian Benton who will face veteran Archie Weah of Norcross, GA by way of Liberia. Benton won a National Golden Gloves championship in 2018 and was awarded the "Golden Boy" Trophy as the most outstanding boxer of the Golden Gloves Tournament in Omaha, NB. Weah (2-12) will be trying to break a three bout losing streak. Weah also fought a debuting Dante Cox in July of 2017 and lost a four-round majority decision in Washington, DC.

Hurd To Defend Unified 154-Pound Title Against Williams May 11th In Fairfax, VA!
Undefeated and unified 154-Pound champion "Swift" Jarrett Hurd of Accokeek, MD will defend his WBA/IBF/IBO championships against contender Julian "J-Rock" Williams of Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, May 11th at the Eagle Bank Arena at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. The bout will be televised live on Fox and Fox Deportes.
For Hurd (23-0, 16 KO's), this will be the third defense of his IBF title and the second of the WBA and IBO crowns. In his last outing, Hurd successfully defended his titles with a fourth-round knockout over Jason Welborn on December 1st in Los Angeles, CA. This will also be the first time Hurd has fought in the Beltway since November of 2014 when he scored a first-round knockout over Terry Cade at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.

Brown Named DC Police Officer Of The Year; Rahman, Sr. Named To Nevada Boxing Hall Of Fame!
A current Beltway Boxer and a local boxing legend recently received wonderful honors.
Undefeated Washington, DC featherweight "The Dark Menace" Tiara Brown, a member of the DC Metropolitan Police Department, was chosen as the 2019 Police Officer Of The Year. Originally from Fort Myers, FL, Brown moved to the DC area six years ago and worked as a youth boxing counselor. She joined the DC police force in 2015.
As a boxer, Brown was a talented amateur, winning three gold medals at the USA National Championships and a gold at the Women's World Championships in China in 2012. Brown also participated in the most recent Olympic Trials. Brown is undefeated as a pro with a record of 7-0, five KO's and has stopped her last three opponents, including a fourth-round stoppage of former world champion Dahiana Santana on December 8th in Bowie, MD.
Former Undisputed World Heavyweight champion Hasim "The Rock" Rahman, Sr. is one of the newest members of the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame. A native of Baltimore, MD, Rahman, Sr. has had a home in Las Vegas for many years. Rahman, Sr. (50-9-2, 41 KO's) made his pro debut in Vegas in October of 1994, knocking out Gregory Harrington in the first round and fought five times in the state. Rahman, Sr. will always be remembered for engineering one of the greatest upsets in boxing history when he knocked out Lennox Lewis in the fifth round to win the Undisputed World Heavyweight championship on April 22, 1991 in Carnival City, Brakpan, South Africa.
Rahman, Sr. will join the likes of Bernard Hopkins, Ronald "Winky" Wright (who was born in DC, but fought out of Florida), Joel Casamayor, Juan Manuel Marquez, Humberto "Chiquita" Gonzalez, Terry Norris, Vinny Paz and Wayne McCullough when he gets inducted during a two-day event on August 9th and 10th in Las Vegas.

Ballard Registers Fifth-Round TKO In Philadelphia!
Temple Hills, MD super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard remained undefeated Friday with a fifth-round TKO over Victor Fonseca of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA.
According to John DiSanto of Fightnews.com, Ballard dominated most of the ring action and stopped Fonseca with a body attack in the fifth round. There were no knockdowns but referee Eric Dali stopped the bout at 2:11.
Ballard gets his second win over Fonseca and raises his record to 20-0, 13 KO's. Fonseca falls to 17-10-1, 14 KO's.

Ballard Weighs 162.7 For 10-Rounder In Philadelphia!
D'Mitrius Ballard tipped the scales at 162.7 pounds for his 10-round matchup against Victor Fonseca that will take place on Friday, March 15th at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA. Fonseca came in at 167.4.

Ballard Has Familiar Opponent For March 15th Bout In Philadelphia!
Undefeated Temple Hills, MD super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard has an opponent for his 10-round bout on Friday, March 15th at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA and the foe will be a familiar one.
Ballard (19-0, 12 KO's) will face Victor "Sino" Fonseca of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico (17-9-1, 14 KO's) for the second time. The two faced each other in May of 2016 and Ballard scored a third-round TKO at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA. During the bout, Ballard lost a point early in the third round for a low blow. Later in the round, Ballard would knock Fonseca down before Fonseca's corner would throw in the towel at 1:42.

Bouts have been added to the DiBella Entertainment/TGB Promotions card that will take place on Sunday, March 24th at MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD. This is the card that features Washington, DC's Peterson Brothers in separate bouts.
Alexandria, VA middleweight Brandon "Bulldog" Quarles will be in an eight-round contest against Aaron Coley of Hayward, CA. Quarles (21-4-1, 10 KO's) is riding a three-bout winning streak that includes a 10-round unanimous decision victory over Todd Manuel on December 22nd in Brooklyn, NY. Quarles will make his second trip to the MGM National Harbor Casino where he scored a fifth-round TKO over Fidel Monterrosa Munoz on May 19th.
Coley (15-2-1, seven KO's) looks to bounce back from a 12-round split decision loss to Paul Valenzuela, Jr. on April 7th in Lagos, Nigeria. The bout was for the German version of the World Boxing Union Middleweight title.

Reeves Suffers Fifth-Round TKO In England!
Baltimore, MD light heavyweight Travis "Seveer" Reeves lost by fifth-round knockout to undefeated Anthony Yarde of Ilford, Essex, England Friday night at Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, MD. The bout was shown in the United States on Espn+.

At the opening bell it was once again apparent just how big Yarde was in comparison to his opponent, Yarde is known to struggle with 175lbs, and although Reeves gave a very game performance he was nowhere physically capable of putting a dent in the "Beast from the East."
Yarde sank a right to the body after a cuffing left hook to the top of the head and another big time right hand had Reeves backing off. The American tried to answer back with shots of his own but they just seemed to bounce of Yarde’s huge frame.
Reeves did have success at times and landed more shots than anyone has to this date on Yarde but one has to wonder is that down to poor defence or the fact Yarde knew he couldn’t be hurt. A right hand in the second did momentarily stiffen Reeves’ legs but he quickly recovered despite also receiving a thudding left hook to the body.
Yarde showed patience as Reeves tries to frustrate him and get on the inside, working to the body, but every time he landed his power punches it was clear that he was having an effect on the visitor. Reeves deserves credit for his heart and grit but he wasn’t winning a round.
One thing to note is Yarde’s lack of jab, he instead chooses to adopt a lead left hook in order to prise his openings. Against the elite level at 175lbs that will not be possible, he is going to need to work on that fundamental skill because otherwise he is going to have a lot of trouble when challenging for the biggest prizes.
The end came in the fifth when a giant right hand finally buckled the legs of Reeves and sent him back to the ropes. Yarde followed up with another right hand and another left hook that prompted the referee to throw himself into the mix and stop the bout there and then.
The bout was stopped at 48 seconds of the fifth round. With the loss, Reeves drops to 17-4-2, seven KO's while Yarde remains undefeated at 18-0, 17 KO's and looks to gain a world title shot against the WBO Light Heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev.

Laurel, MD super middleweight Demond "D Best At It" Nicholson scored a first-round technical knockout over Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow of Baltimore, MD to win the Maryland State Super Middleweight title in front of a sellout crowd at Live! Casino in Hanover, MD. The bout was the main event of a Jeter Promotions card.
Nicholson made a crossroads bout very easy by landing strong body shots followed by a strong straight left hand that dropped Nicklow on the seat of his pants. Nicklow beat the count but was on shaky legs. Referee David Braslow took a look and stopped the contest at 1:16.
"The jab was always in the plan," Nicholson told reporters after the bout. "The body shots were a little bit different for me. Everything I learned showed up tonight."
"I saw that he wasn't warmed up for the bout, so I tried to jump on him," Nicklow said. "I just got caught. It's boxing. He can really punch."
Nicholson wins his third straight contest and raises his record to 21-3-1, 20 KO's. Nicklow falls to 27-10-3, nine KO's and loses his first bout in the state of Maryland. (26-1-3, eight KO's in the state).
The co-feature saw Glenarden, MD lightweight Drayvontay Speed Rawls register a third-round TKO over Elkridge, MD's "The Red Comet" Dante Cox. The hand speed of Speed Rawls proved to be the difference in the contest as he landed a blistering right-left combination to Cox's head and body that dropped him. Cox beat referee Kenny Chevalier's count but Chevalier ruled that Cox was not fit to continue. The bout ended at 1:28 of the third.
Speed Rawls is now 11-1-1, eight KO's while Cox, an employee at one of the restaurants in Live! Casino, loses for the first time and is now 3-1, two KO's.
The bout between undefeated Bowie, MD super lightweight Greg "Sharpshooter" Outlaw and Tyrone "Butterfly" Crawley, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA ended in a no contest after approximately two minutes of the first round. The two boxers got into a tangle and both fell down with Outlaw falling on top of Crawley. Crawley would hurt his left leg. After ringside doctors examined Crawley's leg, they ruled that the bout would not continue. Outlaw's record remains at 7-0, two KO's while Crawley stays at 7-1-1.
Baltimore super middleweight AJ "We Are" Williams won by third-round TKO over DC's Dameron "Bruiser" Kirby. Competing for the first time since April of 2013, Williams suffered a knockdown in the first round as Kirby hit Williams with a right hand. Suitland, MD featherweight Malik "Lil' Leak" Loften captured a four-round split decision over the debuting Ebrima Jawara of Germantown, MD. Jawara started out quickly with solid shots in the first two rounds. Loften would give his share of punishment but had to deal with a cut around his right eye in the third round. Both men did a good job of landing their shots during the rest of the contest. Judges John Gradowski and Don Risher saw the bout for Loften by 40-36 and 39-37 scores, respectively. Judge Steve Rados scored the bout 39-37 for Jawara. Loften is now 2-1, one KO.

Chambers, who works as a Baltimore City Police Officer, landed early shots in the first half of the bout but started to tire in the second half. For Haney, the bout was his second straight draw and he is now 0-3-2.
Newport News, VA heavyweight Jerry "Slug" Forrest won an eight-round unanimous decision over Grover Young of Memphis, TN. This third meeting between the two men was less contentious than the previous two bouts, both won by Forrest in 2017. The only hiccup in this contest was in the second round when both men would lose a point for hitting on the break. Forrest would also knock down Young with a left hand in the third round. Forrest would win the bout as Judge Gradowski saw the bout 76-73, Judge Rados scored it 78-71 and Judge Risher witnessed a 77-72 score. Forrest is now 24-2, 19 KO's while Young falls to 13-26-3, nine KO's.
In the opening bout on the card, Brooklyn, NY super welterweight prospect Radzhab "The Python" Butaev knocked out veteran Lanardo "Pain Server" Tyner of Detroit, MI at 1:48 of the third round. Tyner was trying to land a flurry of punches but got caught by a Butaev right hand followed by a left hook that dropped him. Butaev would swarm Tyner the rest of the way forcing referee Chevalier to stop the contest. Butaev, a native of Salsk, Russia, remains undefeated at 11-0, nine KO's while Tyner falls to 35-15-2, 22 KO's.
Jeter Promotions is headed by the husband and wife team of former world-ranked boxer Tony "Mo Better" Jeter and his wife, Christen. Brian Dillon handled the matchmaking duties. Henry "Discombobulating" Jones served as ring announcer.

Weigh-In For March 8th Card Open To The Public!
The weigh-in for the Friday, March 8th Jeter Promotions card at Live! Casino in Hanover, MD will be on Thursday, March 7th at 6:30 PM at Center Stage on the casino floor. The weigh-in will be free and open to the public but fans must be 21 years old or over.
There is one change and one addition to the card. The opponent for Baltimore super middleweight "Dangerous" Donald Wallace has changed once again. Wallace (3-1-1, two KO's) will now take on veteran Lawrence Blakey of Pittsburgh, PA . Blakey (5-12-2, two KO's) will be trying to break a five-bout losing streak including a 10-round unanimous decision loss to Frankie Filippone on December 8th in Norfolk, VA.
Also on the card will be undefeated Brooklyn, NY super welterweight Radzhab "The Python" Butaev who will battle veteran Lanardo "Pain Server" Tyner of Detroit, MI in an eight-round bout. Butaev (10-0, eight KO's) is a native of Salsk, Russia and last fought on October 27th and stopped Azeal Cosio in the third round in New York City. Tyner (35-14-2, 22 KO's) comes off an eight-round unanimous decision to Isiah Jones on February 8th in Detroit. Tyner makes his second appearance at Live! Casino. Tyner lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Ivan Golub on the August 18th card.

Two Beltway Boxers are slated to be involved in some important bouts on some big cards in the very near future.
Baltimore, MD's "Slick" Nick Kisner will compete in a bout against undefeated Otto Wallin on Saturday, April 13th at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Kisner (21-4-1, six KO's) will box as a heavyweight in this bout against Wallin, a native of Sundsvall, Sweden (20-0, 13 KO's). The bout is supposed to be for a title but we are not sure which one. The bout is also slated to open a Showtime telecast headlined by the contest for the Undisputed Female Middleweight Championship between Claressa Shields and Christina Hammer.
Kisner last fought on July 28th when he won a 10-round majority decision over Scott Sigmon in Columbus, OH. Wallin, who is currently the EBU European Union and WBA Continental Heavyweight champion, comes off a 12-round unanimous decision over Adrian Granat on April 21st in Sundsvall. This will be Wallin's first bout in the United States.
Meanwhile, BoxingScene.com is reporting that undefeated Upper Marlboro, MD super featherweight Lamont Roach, Jr. is slated to take on Jonathan "Poivo" Oquendo of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico in a WBO Eliminator contest on Saturday, May 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV on the undercard of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Danny Jacobs.
Both men come in holding WBO regional titles. Roach (18-0-1, seven KO's) is the International champion while Oquendo (30-5, 19 KO's) is the NABO titleholder. Roach, who is currently ranked second in the world by the WBO, successfully defended his title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Alberto Mercado on December 15th in New York City. Oquendo, who is fifth in the WBO rankings, last fought on December 8th and won an eight-round unanimous decision over Deivi Julio Bassa in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.
It should be noted that Roach fought Bassa on July 20th in Cancun, Mexico and won his International title stopping Bassa in the sixth round. The winner of this bout is slated to receive an opportunity against WBO 130-Pound Champion Masayuki Ito of Japan. No official word on whether this bout will be a part of the pay-per-view telecast of this card.

Dyer Wins, Williams Loses By Unanimous Decision!
Baltimore, MD lightweight Jahmal Dyer won a six-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Carlos Dixon of Louisville, KY on Saturday, March 2nd at the Voinovich Center in Columbus, OH. No word on the scores for the bout. Dyer is now 9-1, five KO's while Dixon falls to 7-1, five KO's.

Russell, Irby, Anderson All Victorious In Brooklyn!
Beltway Boxers went three-for-three in the preliminary portion of a card at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Capitol Heights, MD bantamweight Antonio "Another" Russell scored a sixth-round TKO over Jose Maria Cardenas of Tijuana, Mexico. Russell was in control throughout the contest landing solid shots. As the bell rang to start the sixth round, Russell hit Cardenas with a stunning straight left hand. Cardenas backed into a neutral corner and Russell swarmed him. After just 22 seconds of action in the sixth, the ringside doctor told the referee to stop the nout.
Russell remains undefeated at 13-0, 11 KO's. Cardenas falls to 16-4, 13 KO's.
In a six-round bout, Landover, MD welterweight Tyrek "I.G.B." Irby won a unanimous decision over Dennis Okoth of Kenya. Irby scored a knockdown midway through the first round and went on to the easy victory. No word on the scores. Irby is now 7-0, two KO's. Okoth drops to 2-2-1, one KO.
Baltimore, MD middleweight Aaron Anderson returned from an almost two-year absence to win a four-round unanimous decision over Chukka "The Lion King" Willis of Emporia, KS. Anderson went the distance for the first time in his young career and won by shutout (40-36) one all three cards. Anderson is now 4-0, three KO's while Willis is 4-10, three KO's.

Jahmal Dyer and Daron Williams weighed in for their Saturday bouts in Columbus, OH and Pittsburgh, PA.
Dyer tipped the scales at 131 pounds for his six-round bout against Carlos Dixon at the Voinovich Center in Columbus. Dixon came in at 130 1/2 pounds.
