Arlington, VA super welterweight "The Uzbek Warrior" Zarifbek Nishanbaev scored a first-round TKO over Cordell Powell of Las Vegas, NV Saturday at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ.
Nishanbaev went to work early and battered Powell with hard shots. The onslaught proved to be too much for Powell's corner to witness as they told the referee to stop the contest, which he did at 1:32.
Nishanbaev, who also is going by the nickname "Triple Z," is now 4-1, two KO's while Powell drops to 0-2, suffering two first-round knockouts.
