Former WBO Super Lightweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley continues his world tour as he challenges Dexter Gonzales of Marabella, Trinidad And Tobago for the vacant WBC Fecarbox Lightweight title in a 12-round bout Saturday at the Giftland Office Max in Lilliendal, Guyana.
Corley (47-27-1, 28 KO's) has been feasting off young, relatively inexperienced competition as of late winning three bouts in a Contender-style competition in Jamaica. Gonzales (8-1-2, five KO's) is looking for his second straight title. Gonzales captured the vacant WBC Caribbean title in his last outing, scoring an eighth-round TKO over Clive Atwell on October 24 in Lilliendal. Gonzales has four straight knockouts.
