DeLeon Tinsley of Orlando, FL (9-10-1, five KO's) replaces Angel Rios as the opponent for Johnson. Tinsley is normally a cruiser but he hasn't fought since a May 2011 six-round unanimous decision loss to Nick Kisner in Millersville, MD. Tinsley has also lost to Venroy July during his career.
Grant and Antoine meet in a rematch of their bout that took place on October 26 at the Convention Center. Grant won a four-round split decision in the first encounter. This one is slated for six rounds.
This card is slated to begin at 6 PM. We are slated to start blogging at 5:45.

Gervonta Davis vs. a 42-yr-old James Franks at a 6-pound weight advantage is nothing short of criminal
Those type of guys like Davis have no business fighting ducks like that. He gains nothing but a win. No one is saying fight hard fights but at least competitive bouts that will help him as a pro fighter. He proven to be an elite amateur, this is going backwards.

There are fighter that have a.500 record that would have given him some experience in pro boxing. Some of these fights are worthless, from the competitions perspective
An absolute waste of time.
Let's Go All!
DONT NOBODY WANT TO FIGHT DAVIS IF THEIR IS ANYBODY ON HERE THAT KNOW OF ANYBODY WHO WOULD LIKE TO FIGHT GERVONTA DAVIS LEAVE A CONTACT NUMBER!!!
come on now man their are plenty of people that would like to and love to fight Davis. He aint no Floyd mayweather, some times we put are foot in our own mouths. None of these area fighters are fighting anyone why because that is how the boxing game is run,
I agree to a certain extent, there are still better fighters to fight than the ones these fighters are fighting. There have to be some level of competition at least. These shows are not paying much so you cannot expect these guys to fight top level of competition but at least the competition should be much better.
theres a kid that fought in dc before that would damolish gevante davis. he is name marcus bates and he has problem getting fights to. b more vs dc. lets make noise.
Davis would never accept fight with The Animal Bates! The Animal would eat him alive.
919961-7286 I have a fighter that would be interested in the Gervonta match name Tony Jones. Call me if interested
Marcus Bates-Gervonta Davis January 17 at Rosecroft Raceway. DC-Baltimore. Friday Night Fights. The Show of the O Must Go. Let's make noise beltway fans to get a great fight between local undefeated fighters made.
And what would be the reason for it at this stage? No real money, no title and one fighter gets set back. Let them build some records and then make this happen.
Where do you buy tickets for this match? Can't find anything online
Have to come to the Convention Center at this point.
An opponent who fights a young boxer with a big amateur record wants to get PAID, period. A promoter would prefer NOT to pay dearly for an opponent unless the young boxer is a ticket seller. As long guys like James Franks -- who is 42 years old, has not fought in over two years, and has lost his last six fights in a row while weighing no more than 121 pounds in any of those bouts -- get approved, there is nothing you can do to stop it. Let's just PRAY that Franks doesn't get hurt. If he does get injured, heaven forbid, I wonder how anyone will be able to defend this bout.
