John "No Mercy" Mackey of Upper Marlboro, MD won by fourth-round TKO over Fluvanna, VA's George "War Time" Rivera last night at the Waldorf Jaycees Community Center in Waldorf, MD. Mackey is now 13-6-2, five KO's while Rivera is now 11-6, four KO's.
The co-feature saw Oxon Hill, MD light heavyweight Alexander "The Great" Johnson remain undefeated with a second-round TKO over Morristown, NJ's Andre Espeut. Johnson is 10-0, four KO's while Espeut is 2-3, one KO.
Ashburn, VA's Tori Nelson won a four-round unanimous decision over Rachel Clark of Fayetteville, NC. The win is Nelson's first as a pro and she is now 1-0-1. Clark falls to 5-4-1, three KO's.
Heavyweight Abodurin "Bo" Akinyanju of Springdale, MD lost a four-round split decision to veteran Kevin Howard of Montgomery, AL. Akinyanju is now 3-1, three KO's while Howard is 2-4-1.
Baltimore junior middleweight Lenwood "Mr. Composure" Dozier won a six-round unanimous decision over Mike Denby of Dover, DE. Dozier raises his record to 6-2-1, two KO's. Denby is 3-8-3, two KO's.
Fort Washington, MD light heavyweight Thomas Williams, Jr. won his long awaited pro debut defeating Dan Shull of Winchester, VA by unanimous decision. Shull is 2-12-1, one KO.
Also, Joe Cusumano of Virginia Beach, VA stopped the returning Charlemagne Jones of DC in just 44 seconds of the first round. Cusumano is now 2-0, two KO's while Jones is 2-3-1, two KO's.
