Here are some updates to upcoming cards.
The Ballroom Boxing/TKO Promotions card on Thursday, April 2 at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD is coming together and it will be a combination of hometown boxers and talented out-of-town prospects.
Windsor Mill, MD middleweight Julius Kennedy has been added to the card. Kennedy (3-1, one KO) will battle James Denson of Akron, OH in a four-round bout. Kennedy is returning to the ring for the first time since winning a four-round unanimous decision over Al Bussey on October 30 at Martin's Valley Mansion in Cockeysville, MD. Denson (4-3, two KO's) is coming off a four-round unanimous decision over Rakeem Carter on January 24 in Johnstown, PA. Denson last fought in the Beltway area on May 3, 2008 and stopped Kendrick Walker in the third round in District Heights, MD.
Among the out-of-town prospects slated for this show include WBC World Youth Featherweight and WBC USNBC Featherweight titleholder Matt "The Sharpshooter" Remillard of Hartford, CT. Remillard (16-0, eight KO's) will face Minneapolis, MN's Hassan Wasswa (5-8-2, two KO's) in an eight-round co-feature. Also undefeated Canadian middleweight prospect Albert "The Punisher" Onolunose (16-0, six KO's) will take on Anthony "Powerhouse" Bartinelli (20-11-2, 13 KO's) in an eight-round contest.
The main event remains the same: Baltimore super middleweight Mike "The Persecutor" Paschall (18-1-1, four KO's) will battle "The Punching Policeman" Sam Hill (17-10-1, 10 KO's) of St. Louis, MO in another eight-round contest.
Meanwhile, Baltimore Pro Boxing is announcing that undefeated Brandywine, MD heavyweight Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell will appear on the Friday, April 10 card at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore. No word yet on Mitchell's opponent. Mitchell (10-0, seven KO's) is coming off a first-round TKO of Joseph Rabotte on March 7 in San Jose, CA and has scored knockouts in his last three bouts.
Also, another bout has been added to the Saturday, May 2 ICE Promotions card at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. This will be a matchup of two veterans as DC middleweight Purcell "Hard Rock" Miller will battle Altoona, PA's Thomas Wilt in an eight-round contest. The two boxers appeared on the same Patriot Center card back on October 7, 2006. Miller (22-5-1, 18 KO's) lost an eight-round unanimous decision to Larry Marks while Wilt (21-6, four KO's) fell via 10th-round TKO in the main event against Jimmy Lange.
Since that card, Wilt has only fought once, winning a six-round unanimous decision over Jerome Elder on November 3, 2007 in Morgantown, WVA. Miller, meanwhile, has not been back in the ring since the Marks bout.

Thats a good fight for Purcell Miller. Where does he train?
Hard Rock is back ladies & gentleman. Don't worry where he train because he will torch this guy no matter where he train.
To answer the question, Miller has been training and I believe working, at the new LA Boxing location in Georgetown.
He'll also be Jimmy Lange's chief sparring partner when the two go into camp in North Carolina.
That's correct. Purcell will be Jimmy's chief sparring partner for the upcoming fight May 2nd. He is working & training at LA Boxing Georgetown for the last few months.
I thought that Chop Chop was going to fight on the Patriot center card?
Does anybody know if Jackie "The First Lady of Boxing" is still managing Matt "The Sharpshooter" Remillard? I know that he started with her, but I didn't see her name connected with the Ballroom bout, and he's not on her website.
Good for Tommy Wilt! He was a class act when he fought Jimmy Lange, and it will be great to see him back.
That could be interesting. I'm sure Purcell still has his power. If I recall, Wilt gave Lange an awful hard time. I'll go out on a limb here, the winner of the Miller-Wilt fight will fight Jimmy Lange on the next card if Lange beats Hougtaling.
No, not happening. Not only are Purcell & Jimmy buddies. Purcell will be Jimmy's sparring patner for this bout.

So what? You can fight your buddy. Look at Simon Brown and Maurice Blocker. I'm sure Purcell would fight Jimmy for the money.
It would probably have to be a lot of money plus a couple of titles at stake.
Brown and Blocker fought each other when there was no one really left to fight. Brown was IBF Welterweight champ and Blocker held the WBC title. They tried to avoid it as long as they could but it had to happen. Purcell and Jimmy aren't in that situation yet.
I think Jimmy Lane is over rated he has been fighting pro too long not too be ranked any were

Shortly after both Jimmy Lange and Jimmy Leblanc won their repestective fights on the November card at GMU preliminary talks of a Lange-Leblanc fight had begun. Now on paper this fight probably shouldn't take place. However there are some sell able story lines not related to boxing that may make it sell. There were talks of a December fight in Philly; Leblanc didn't get approved for an 8 rounder so no fight. The Leblanc camp was given assurance that they were gonna fight Lange. Then in late December an attempt was made to get the fight in Boston MA for mid February. Again no fight a proper venue couldn't be secured for a reasonable price.
Know we fast forward to early January; representatives from the Leblanc camp again was given the assurance that the Lange fight would happen in May if he would wait and not take another fight. Leblanc agreed and asked to have that promise in writing saying both: Leblanc would not fight until May and it would be Leblanc-Lange in May. Well the promissory note of sorts never came. There were discussions of figures for the fight and promises of contracts coming. Never happened. In early March Jimmy Leblanc took a fight in Boston on March 14 that he thought he could win. He was tired of being bird dogged and waiting for the "contract" that he feared it(Lange Fight) would get postponed again or worse never happen. So he decided to take the March fight.
Leblanc lost and also lost the pending Lange fight as well. The Lange camp is well within their right to not take this fight, but members of his camp are highly upset with Leblanc for not honoring his word of not fighting until the Lange fight. We fast forward to mid to late March the Lange camp was still gracious enough to offer Leblanc a fight on the card with Thomas Wilt. A fight Leblanc willingly accepted for a less than adequate purse. Then later we learn thru a fifth party that Wilt is fighting Purcell Miller, and Leblanc's camp wasn't even given the courtesy of being contacted to tell us that the fight wasn't happening.
Now I post this to ask are equal parties to blame for the demise of LeBlanc-Lange or is it something else? Did Lange not want to fight a 12-15 guy with nothing to gain? I am new to this area of VA and not sure how the boxing community gets down, but it is my early opinion that there is a lot of lip service and ZERO follow thru. Can some of you please enlighten me

Don't put the boxing people in this area in with the likes of Johnny Lange. Most of the people I know in Maryland, DC, and VA are good honest people. Johnny Lange is not one of them. When he opens his mouth, he's lying, that's how bad it is. He's only worried about what you can do for him and he will lie to that end, just like he did to get LeBlanc to wait, so that he can get what he wants. Johnny knows Jimmy can't fight which is why we have the same type of fighter over and over again. Thomas Wilt, Fontaine Cabell, Grover Wiley, and now Frank Houghtaling. I didn't put Perry Ballard in there because, well, he's just sorry. He should be arrested for impersonating a boxer. The one guy that could fight a little bit, Joey Gilbert, got Lange out of there in 3 rounds. Gilbert is really just an ordinary fighter which tells you that Lange is less than ordinary. That's okay. From a business standpoint they figure if Lange keeps winning he'll get a decent money shot somewhere down the line. Plus they can keep putting on a show or two per year and profiting from that. I have been to all of Lange's fights and from what I have seen the attendance keeps going down. The first fight with Ballard was pretty well attended and the second fight with Gilbert was the biggest by far. But after that I don't think they have drawn two thousand. Are they making money? I don't know and I don't care. Can Jimmy Lange fight? Not even a little bit. If Johnny Lange promises you something, should you get it in writing? I'll let Brian be the judge of that.
Yeah, sure, keep knocking the Langes. But at least they have Jimmy in with guys with winning records. LeBlanc is 12-15.

Johnny Lange was probably scared of Jimmy LeBlanc. He crushed poor Luther Smith who is a walking neurological disaster. Lange has been trying to set up a fight with Smith for a while but Luther is so far gone that he can't beat anybody. Don't be surprised if the Langes bring in a homeless guy for Luther to get a win against and then they fight Jimmy next. I wouldn't put it past them. I think Lange would beat LeBlanc but it wouldn't be easy. Sorry you got screwed Brian. Welcome to the club!
The point is we tried to get something in writing and it was never delivered. Maybe that was the fore-shadowing of what actually did go down!
We wanted to fight Lange. We would have fought Wilt. Leblanc has never ducked anyone much to his detriment.

I have met some fantastic boxing people who have been more than. helpful and receptive to me. I am greatful to them for helping me get acclimated down here.
I HEARD THAT YOU COULD HAVE FOUGHT Purcell Miller But NO you wanted to skip by him, you can't keep living off of the Luther Smith fight, you fought in March and got your ass handed to you so stop complaining,why don't yopu ask for HardRock Miller I'm sure that could happen.....
Well we did get our asses handed to us in March. There isn't any denying that. We aren't living off the Smith win. We Were living off lies and promises form certain people. Who claim to tell it like it is and are people who stand by their word.
Well they haven't delivered on their word or contracts as promised. I have made several attempts of contact and have yet to recieve a call back. Thats cool so that's why I posed the question
We were offerd Lange that didnt work. We were offered both Miller and Wilt. We passed on Miller as we were offered Wilt first. Because it was the same purse for both guys and the same rounds we decide on Wilt.
So the fact that the fight was paying $hi# we decided on the easier fight.
We got nothing against Wilt or Miller. If they want to up the purse instaed of trying to pay with food stamps we will happily fight Miller...
Are only complaint is against the establishment that makes false promises and live by innuendo's gossip and lies.

i agree about false promises and lies. i know that they have signed contracts for fights then one opponent backs out day before and the didn't even pay the other guy for making weight and training, nor did they try to find a replacment!
