Two Beltway Boxers will be in televised bouts on ESPN2 on Friday, August 29 from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.
The main event has former USBA Cruiserweight champion Emmanuel "Chukwu" Nwodo of Baltimore taking on Matt "Too Smooth" Godfrey of Providence, RI in a 12-round bout for Godfrey's NABF Cruiserweight title.
Nwodo (22-4, 18 KO's) and ranked nunber 12 by the WBA and number 15 by the WBC, is coming off a second-round knockout of Ezra Sellers on January 19 in New York City. Godfrey (16-1, nine KO's) will be trying to bounce back from his first career loss, a WBC Cruiserweight title elimination bout against Rudolf Kraj in Germany that Godfrey lost by 12-round unanimous decision.
The co-feature will be a 10-rounder between former IBF Featherweight champion Eric "Mighty Mouse" Aiken of Forestville, MD and undefeated featherweight prospect Matt "Sharp Shooter" Remillard of Hartford, CT.
Aiken (16-7-1, 12 KO's) is winless in his last four bouts including losses to former world champ Robert Guerrero and contenders Thomas Mashaba and Monty Meza-Clay and a draw with veteran Cruz Carbajal.
For the 22-year-old Remillard (14-0, seven KO's), Aiken poses the most accomplished foe of his young career. Remillard won a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Magellon for the WBC Youth Featherweight title on June 13 in Hartford.

Ding-a-ling took Nwodo to school, but now that he learnt more in that one fight than his whole career combined, Nwodo's ready to graduate against Godfrey.

I disagree. He didnt get took to school but caught with a super great shot
Nwodo was winning the fight big until he got caught with that shot.
He was taken to school in the sense that he has now learnt how to pace a fight better, fight the correct fight at the right time, and sometimes just stick to outboxing someone rather than going for the KO always.
Actually, the fight was even going into the 11th.
