The Undefeated Peterson Brothers have won the 2007 Pat Putnam Award from the Boxing Writers Association of America.
The Putnam Award, named after the late Sports Illustrated boxing writer who once spent 17 months in a Chinese prison camp during the Korean War, is given to a boxer who has shown perserverance in overcoming adversity. The story of the Petersons is well known with the brothers overcoming homelessness early in their lives to become top-flight contenders.

I thought Snow was going to be fighting on the local DC card that was cancelled. Come on up and see Farmer's fights Bo. Wish Snow was fighting on that card.
Almost 3/4 of a million people in the Petersons home city and six comments of support of which a couple are from out of the area. Man, do yourself and boxing a big favor people, show some real support and let them and others that do well, know you are behind them. They are your Redskins, Wizards, and Capitols for Boxing. Look at how Albuquerque N.M supported guys like Johnny Tapia and Danny Romero even at a time when they were rivals or Youngstown with Pavlic, Little Rock with Taylor and others. Support doesn't have to get diluted just because there are many talented fighters. With all the talent on the beltway, this could be the capital of boxing. I know I'm not the only one that sees this. There should be
a couple hundred comments on here.
