Stevenson in for a test?
Hopefully he doesn't bring 75 people to the ring with him. I mean half of east Baltimore used to walk in. People who know zero about boxing and don't belong in the ring.
There isn't enough room for that here. Could be interesting, though.
I mean outside of the "injury" excuse, can someone tell me the REAL reason Stevenson hasn't fought in forever? He was on his was to a Shobox, nbcsports, or at worst ESPN2 shot.
He should be like 20-0 with 16 stops by now. I don't care about the competition. With a record like that and knockout power he woulda go his "Mike Paschall opportunity."
Two answers to your question.
1. Stevenson's father passed away last year suddenly.
2. Stevenson hasn't been injured, fights have just fallen out on him for various reasons -- something that was happening to him before the layoff.
Okay. The last time I check he hurt his right hand. This may have been a year ago. I hope his father's death gives him a renewed spirit and he parlays it into something big. He's a good kid.
James is a awesome guy very respectful and he can box. I hope to see him in the ring more often. He has a good chance to fight for a legimate title.
