Amir Khan was supposed to have a closed training session at at Old School Boxing (Buddy Harrison's gym). The father/coach of one of the fighters on the undercard, Dusty Harrison, allowed the closed session turn into an open session. He knowingly let people from Lamont Peterson's camp in the gym to observe the training session.
Fortunately, Amir Khan chose not to train due to the issues that transpired that day. Buddy/Dusty/Old School Boxing had no regard for the privacy of Amir Khan and his closed training session. Buddy Harrison's goal was to showcase his son and show loyalties to Lamont Peterson Team with no care at all for the privacy of Amir Khan.
Not only was this disrespectful but also wasted valuable time for Amir, a fighter that actually is skilled. To try to showcase Dusty, who will never be a contender, this was ridiculous. Dusty has not had any accomplishments as an amateur much less as a professional. Buddy has to stop trying to live vicariously through his son and understand that they don't have what it takes to make it in the sport. Coupled with the fact that he KNOWINGLY allowed people from the Peterson camp in is like a double spit in the face.
Amir, some of us in DC respect the sport and respect ANY fighter that is willing to put the work in to make it to your level. From all of us disgusted by the behavior displayed by Old School, Buddy, and Dusty we apologize and hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in DC.
