Busy weekend for Beltway pros coming up. On Friday, May 6, Silver Spring, MD light heavyweight George "El Gallo" Armenta will take on former world title contender Elvin Ayala of New Haven, CT in an eight-round contest at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, CT.
Armenta (13-6, 11 KO's) has lost three of his last four -- all to undefeated boxers (Sechew Powell, Mark Tucker and Elvin Rodriguez). Ayala (22-5-1, 10 KO's) once challenged Arthur Abraham for the IBF Middleweight title in 2008 (losing by 12th round knockout), has won his last two bouts.
Then on Saturday, May 7, four Beltway Boxers will participate on a card in Charlotte, NC. Undefeated Baltimore welterweight James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson (14-0, 10 KO's) will take on Joey "Mundo" Ortega of Lowell, MA (3-20, one KO) in a six-round contest. Baltimore cruiserweight "Slick" Nick Kisner (8-0-1, five KO's) will battle Chesapeake, VA veteran William "The Storm" Bailey (10-20-2, five KO's) in a four-round bout.
Omar "The Machine" Sims of Baltimore (5-3-3, three KO's) will face undefeated local prospect Lee Campbell (2-0, one KO) in a four-round bout. Jarell Mason-Jackson of DC (8-5-2, four KO's) will also be on the card.

If William Bailey has not lost a couple of steps, that could be a very interesting bout for Kisner!
he knocked out adam seal who went on to beat daniel judah. he also beat juan robles twice. hasnt fought in a while but if hes in shape it may be interesting if he connects.

hey digital, i heard that Thomas Snow is fighting Jonathan Oquendo in Puerto Rico. True?
Originally true, but I'm hearing false now. The word I'm getting is that Snow may have priced himself out of the deal.
Hopefully, the fight will go on because it was supposed to be for a regional title, but as far as I know, the bout is off.
Gary, he didn't price himself out of it as I understand, he was offered a very lousy purse. They tried to play for him for stupid by offering dirt cheap dough, when there was at least double the offer in it for him,
You got it right Brian, trust me I know.
