Six undefeated Baltimore-area boxers will highlight the United Boxers Promotions card on Friday, April 15 at the Maryland Sportsplex in Millersville, MD.
Cruiserweight Russ "The Hammer" Shiflett (10-0-1, five KO's) will headline the card in a six-round contest against Willie "Blackout" Chisholm of Gainesville, FL (6-10, three KO's). Shiflett won his last bout by four-round disqualification over Ariel Espinal on March 26 in Ranson, WVA. Chisholm is coming off a six-round decision loss to Shane Benfield on March 26 in Rock Hill, SC.
Welterweight Emmanuel "Tranzformer" Taylor (10-0, eight KO's) will be in the co-feature as he takes on Guadalupe Diaz of Chicago, IL (5-8-3, one KO) in another six-rounder. Taylor won a six-round unanimous decision over Laureano Laracuente on October 21 in Cockeysville, MD. Diaz lost a six-round unanimous decision to Jaime Herrera on November 19 in Chicago.
The card also marks the return of Baltimore junior middleweight James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson who will face veteran Jose "Lucky" Angel Roman of Jacksonville, FL in yet another six-round bout. Stevenson (13-0, 10 KO's) has not fought since defeating George Rivera by 10-round unanimous decision in Baltimore in March of 2010. Stevenson also dealt with the passing of his father in 2010. Roman(11-30-5, five KO's) is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision loss to Ayi Bruce on February 12 in Columbia, SC.
Baltimore cruiserweight "Slick" Nick Kisner is also back in action in a four-round contest against Leo Bercier of Belcourt, ND. Kisner, the 2010 Beltway Boxing Rookie of the Year (7-0, five KO's) will be looking for his fourth straight knockout. Kisner stopped James Pratt in the first round on February 5 in Charlotte, NC. Bercier (8-15-1, four KO's) was stopped in the third round against Eric Molina on October 30 in Harlingen, TX.
In a four-round light heavyweight contest, Dale "Hit Hard as Hell" Robeson-El of Baltimore (6-0, four KO's) will square off against Tim Franklin of Hannibal, MO (1-1, one KO). Robeson-El scored a second-round knockout over Ariel Espinal on December 11 in Pikesville, MD. Franklin won his first pro bout with a first-round KO over Blake Sims on March 26 in Hannibal.
Junior lightweight Angelo "Seek and Destroy" Ward (1-0) will face Tevin Farmer of Philadelphia, PA (0-1) in a four-round contest. Ward won his pro debut in March of 2009, winning a four-round unanimous decision over Dwayne Martin in Woodlawn, MD. Farmer also made his pro debut in Baltimore, dropping a four-round unanimous decision to Oscar Santana on February 11.
In other bouts on the card, middleweight and Baltimore fan favorite Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow returns to action with a six-round contest against Steve "The Spoiler" Walker of Hannibal, MO. Nicklow (20-2-3, seven KO's) returns to action for the first time since his rough 10-round draw against Julius Kennedy on September 17 in Baltimore. Walker (25-26, 17 KO's) broke a two-bout losing streak with a fourth-round TKO over Andy Utterback on March 26 in Hannibal.
DC super middleweight Jarell Mason Jackson returns to action for the first time since November 2008 when battles Michael Rayner of Lumberton, NC. Jackson (8-5-1, four KO's) hasn't fought since stopping Carlos Jones in the third round in Glen Burnie, MD. Rayner last fought on September 11 and lost an eight-round unanimous decision to Scott Sigmon in Greensboro, NC.
Also, Baltimore super middleweight Mischa "The Assassin" Christensen (2-1, one KO) will be in an all-Baltimore bout against Stephen Franklin (1-2, one KO).
