Barnett fought the entire fight with a broken right hand and still won going away. Very entertaining fight though. It was fought mostly on the inside with Barnett landing some big body shots despite the hand. Big win for Barnett but he may be out a while with that hand.
Some of us like details Jerome. I, for one, appreciate knowing more about what actually happened during the fight. If you want just stats go to boxrec and not BATB. This is a blog, not a database.
st Round - Really a feeling out round for both fighters. Hendrix landing counter right hooks and Barnett staying to the body. Slight edge Barnett
nd Round - The jab from Barnett is not being used thus allowing Hendrix to land unanswered straight lefts and counter hooks. ADV Hendrix
rd Round - Barnett dominates with body work and left hooks up stairs. Hendrix starts to retreat a little. ADV Barnett
th Round - Almost like a breather round for Barnett. He is very inactive allowing Hendrix to steal the round with a flurry at the end. ADV Hendrix
th Round - Barnett really starts to get on the stick. It keeps Hendrix at bay and allows Barnett to set up nice hooks to the body off of the jab. ADV Barnett
th Round - More of the same from the 5th. Barnett begins to pull away. ADV Barnett
th Round - Barnett stays on the stick and body work and Hendrix is retreating most of the round. ADV Barnett
th Round - Hendrix flurries early seemingly desperate and knowing he may need a knockdown. Barnett answers Hendrix's flurry and land somenice hooks to the body and head. Hendrix closes strong. ADV Hendrix
-75 Barnett, although I could easily score the 8th for Barnett as well making it possibly 78-74.
