DC junior welterweight Ty Barnett has an important main event bout on Saturday, July 24 at Fitzgerald's Hotel and Casino in Tunica, MS. Barnett (17-1-1, 12 KO's) will face off against Tyrese Hendrix of Atlanta, GA (18-1-1, seven KO's) in a scheduled eight-round contest that according to one of the promotional outlets for the card -- Prize Fight Boxing -- could have future title implications.
"This is probably the most competitive and compelling main event we have ever brought to the Fitz. It is an intriguing match up between the great boxer and the great puncher. Everything is on the line. The winner goes on to regional title fights and the loser has to climb the ladder again. I can't wait!", stated promoter Russ Young of Prize Fight Boxing in a press release.
Barnett last fought on April 16 at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, MD and stopped Broderick Antoine in the seventh round. Hendrix will try to bounce back from suffering his first pro loss -- a 10-round unanimous decision to Hank Lundy for the NABO Lightweight title on April 16 in Memphis, TN.
