Former world title contender Derrik Holmes is the subject of a nice feature that can be seen on Fox 5. Reporter Lyndsay Murphy travels to Holmes's new gym -- New Revival Boxing and Fitness -- in Capitol Heights, MD where Holmes tells his story of triumph, tragedy and redemption.
As I type this, the segment just aired on the Five PM news but is slated to reair tonight during the 10 O'Clock News. You can also probably catch the segment on www.myfoxdc.com.

I don't know what was going through his hesd I was just commenting on the person that asked did anybody see the Gomez fight.There are only a couple of reasons anyone would ask that question and they were bound to be having negative thoughts.
The first time I saw Derek fight was in the Golden Glove finals at
a community college in Maryland.
Prince Georges I believe it was.
That night He fought somebody I thought won the fight and I believe his name was Frankie Burgess.Holmes got the decision but again I thought he lost. That particular fight had a huge impact on me and told myself I had to try this boxing thing.
Holmes no doubt could rumble and never reached his potential as a fighter.

i ask did anyone see the gomez fight because i actually thought he was doing a good job believe me i was a big fan of derrik holmes,ray leonard,johny gant etc.i wasn't saying it to be negative,i would never put down a local fighter past or present i love them all,i was trying to get some positive feedback. sorry u took it the wrong way no harm intended. signed JAZ
