Lenwood Dozier didn't work enough during his fight. It was like he was going 12. I think he got the hometown call.
Borteye vs. Rodriguez was a real crowd pleaser after the early borefests. Both guys showed their chins and Rodriguez at only 18 has a big upside. He needs to really work on his defense, but he is really agressive and I'd pay to see him again. Both fighters received standing ovations after the first round and after the fight and when they walked back into the arena.
Keith Gross - this could have gone either way by TKO or KO, but I think the last round pulled it out for him even though he was dropped in the last round. I think he got it because he's local.
Boone Pultz - I don't even know where to begin. This guy turned pro in '82 and this must been a personal favor to a friend to even get on this show. He was knocked damn near out the ring by a guy that was 1-7-1. Nuff said and it's time to give it up buddy.
Whetzel looked real good - until the fight started. Seth did what he had to do. The jab was strong, he didn't rush into it. Went to the body a little and got this dude up out there in the first. He needs to start running through opponents and picking up the pace. Looks like he agrees and his upside is extremely promising. He's athletic and it seems as though his team is willing to bring him along at a nice pace. He's young, why rush. As long as Golden Boy is ok with that, I'll keep my eyes on him too.
Ray Grant got his guy up outta there almost at the end of the first, finally finishing him off in spectacular fashion - putting him out cold. I left the arena at the bell and even when I was all the way on the other side of the arena, Davis was out.
Ok, this is my humble, non-professional opinion. I'll leave the real anaylyzin to G. Overall, pretty entertaining show, but the tickets weren't cheap. Very low turnout, but I bet more people would have come had they known and tickets been more reasonable. I know that people have to get paid, but it didn't seem to work this time out.
