Go Joppy!
Bo
There are a few Lucian Bute fights up on Youtube and he used to carry his hands very low. He has decent power, balance and ability to let go combinations. he throws a straight jab but mostly punches wide. Joppy sometimes punches wide, too. I didn't see much inside fighting from Bute. He appears comfortable stalking, pressuring, punching - carrying the fight. He appeared well-conditioned. Joppy should be prepared to go twelve to deal with this guy. The title defense is an optional one by Bute, so, as you can imagine, Joppy is virtually handpicked. In brief conversation, Joppy appeared revitalized and focused after such a tough road. We'll see -- well, not see because there is no television -- if there is any firepower left. The 8-1 line appears a bit steep and value players should shop their bookies (does anyone have a bookie anymore?) accordingly. -- J.S.
