Sunday, 12:19PM...Maybe everyone is trying to still find their way out of Ashburn! LOL
Asim, Your fights were a lot of fun for me.
Andre looked great. Powerful.
Snow: an unleashed fury. Really look forward to seeing him fight again.
Great to see Gary Russell, Jr. and family there...loved the suit!
Jargal...Whew! Amazing!
Asim, Congrats on your fight. Can't wait until your next one. Also, to the young man that gave me those great directions on how to get back home...BLESS YOU!
Asim has pulled off a near miracle... Thomas Snow actually fought!
Keep it up Asim... and stay busy Snow...
Congratulations on the first show Asim.
Glad to see Dana back in action. Congrats to all of the local guys on good wins.
Mike Sawyer
Mike Sawyer you always have a comment on somebodys show but you never come and buy a ticket. How about showing some real support and offer something besides your approval or advice. There were only around 100 paying customers there
Asim could have used your financial
support.
What happened to Derek Amos, Patrick Budd, Orazio Robinson, and Jonathan Haggler?
Patrick Budd's opponent was from Connecticut where they had anywhere from nine inches to a foot of snow and he couldn't make it.
Amos's opponent did not show for the weigh in.
The bouts for Orazio and Jonathan Haggler had been cancelled two weeks ago, possibly because there was no approval for either bout.
This was a good club show that kid Jargnal is the real deal I want to see more of him any word on were he fights next?
Asim and Joe,nice job first time out.
I think the weather hurt your attendance but that was no reflection on the job that you guys
did and the amount of work you put into the show. So congradulations
and keep up the good work.
Scott Farmer
P.S. Andre looked like a completely
different fighter last night.
He was a beast.
Linda...you're funny:-)
Thanks everyone for the support. We know the place was hard to find especially with the kind of night we had...we'll make adjustments.
Credit should go to Chris M for putting the Snow bout together.
Digital is correct on Derek, Orazio, Pat, and Jon bouts.
We look forward to 2008.
Asim
Biggest loss to this fan of the night was not seeing Patrick Budd fight.
Maybe it was the bad weather or the fact that the place was hard to find, but the crowd was heartily enthusiastic about each of the fights. Compliments are due to the new promoters on the block who were completely professional and classy.
I think it was a very good show. I liked that Bayan Jargnal and Andre Nichols looked good as well, I hope they continue what was started Sat. night I know the weather was bad ,but the crowd really liked the show which is what you need in club shows, fan follower support.
jargal,no match for todd wilson
That would be an interesting match. The toughest for Todd yet though. So when's it going to happen?
talk to both camps,i am sure they will do it
i was told todd wants to fight jargal
"Let's Get It On!"
Stupid fight for both guys at this stage in their careers (Especially for Todd Wilson, who will lose by KO). Linda, come on, don't encourage a LOSS this early in their careers. They're not gonna make much money for the fight and one has to lose. Give them 4-5 more fights. THEN, let them fight eachother for some money.
Kris Bishop
Okay, Sorry. Didn't realize it was so stupid.
Todd wilson is supposed to fight Warren Clatterbuck on Scott Farmers next show I hear.I think Wilson will give Clatterbuck a boxing leson.
Kris Bishop:
Todd Wilson will whip Bayan Jargal! It won't be a close fight at all! Wilson is going to snack on that bum Warren Clatterbuck as an appetizer, then he's going to have some Mongolian Barbecue as the main course! Wilson is far better than you realize and Jargal, who is a decent fighter is WAY over rated! I think they will fight and soon!
How do you think Jargal is way overrated???
Linda, I didn't mean at all to call you stupid. Your enthusiasm is always well received by this boxing fan. I just think that it would be a stupid fight for Jargal and Wilson at this stage. Now, Wilson vs. Clatterbuck... sure. Why not? Clatterbuck is 36-37 & needs to take some chances (finally). Wilson, hell, he should whoop Clatterbuck & his handlers know that. For the record, I personally like all three of the fighters mentioned. I just believe that, after beating Reggie Holly, Jargal is head and shoulders better than any other VA prospect at the moment. Kay Koroma, on the other hand, may beat Jargal. From what I hear, he has some sort of heart condition and isn't fighting anymore.
Kris Bishop
Thanks Kris,
I very much like both Wilson and Jargal, and and I agree with you about Jargal. I would like to see Clatterbuck get better competition, but think Todd isn't the best opponent for Warren right now...going from one extreme to another. Very sad to hear that about Kay, another favorite.
All this talk on the board about Todd's next fight is just speculation. Until a fight is announced its all just talk and anything could happen.
As for what would happen thats all also speculation until fight night. But a Jargal/Wilson fight would be a bad idea for both fighters. A loss in that situation is a huge setback, and a win doesn't really do anything for either guy.
- TBT
when scott having his next card?
lets be for real,it will be a bad fight for todd, for jargal todd will be just a opponent. i know there are some todd lover out there but lets keep it real, thats if you know boxing
Kay doesn't have a heart problem he has a blood problem. You figure it out. Kay Karoma would beat both Wilson and Jargal together if the commissiopn would let him fight.
when scott having his next card?
You're selling Todd Wilson short. He had an extensive amateur background with only 2 controversial losses in his amateur career. Wilson has sparred with seasoned pros and has more than held his own. He's smart, he's quick, and he's an accurate puncher. Jargal has been portrayed as a beast of a fighter with devastating power. That is not the case which is why I say he's over rated. He's pretty good, don't get me wrong. But he didn't knock out Edward Anderson and he didn't knock out Reggie Holly and both of those guys have been stopped before. He comes forward and he throws right hands. He's stiff in the ring and a good boxer, with a good jab and movement will give Jargal fits and beat him with ease. Todd Wilson is the guy to do just that. He will be Jargal every round of the fight!
First let me preface this with I really don't know boxing that well, so these are only my opinions. I think Todd is an exciting tough fighter who moves like no one else in the ring. The first time I saw him fight was against Jay Watts and he handily beat him. (I think Jay had a death in the family that week), but Todd literally ran over top of him. Even though Todd would have handily knocked him out even if he were on top of his game that night. I don't think that was the best matched fight and even though there was a knockout, that fight was not on the same par as Jargal's fight with Holly. . I don't think it's always fair to say if someone doesn't get a knockout, that they are not the same calibre. So many factors play into it. I think Jake's show that went the distance until 1:30 am gave me a new perspective on fights. It's a lot harder to knock someone out when they are closer to you in skill. My initial thought with all this was a fight between Todd and Jargal would be interesting, and close, and definitely Todd would be tested. But in light of the wisdom of other posters I understand that at this point not beneficial to either fighter, so better to think of them fighting someone else.
I really like the discussion, but I think it's too early in both of their careers to make a fight as well.
Digital, you've seen them both fight. Just for giggles, can you break down how the fight would go and who you think would win?
The Jargal/Holly fight: http://photodawg1.smugmug.com/gallery/3316228/1/220059277/Large
I definitely agree that it is WAY too early to match Jargal and Wilson. It wouldn't mean a thing and would not benefit either boxer.
If I had to make a decision, I would lean slightly towards Jargal at this stage because he has had more opportunities to make adjustments from amateur to pro. He's faced slightly better competition and has already moved to six-round bouts.
I think both will be fine boxers and maybe a year or 18 months down the road, we can put them in bouts that mean something.
The next Ballroom Boxing show is January 31st.
Who's fighting on the 31st? I didn't see it listed on Ballroom's website.
i was asking about scott farmer next card but thank you.
Hi everybody,
I would just like to add my two cents:
For all the "anonymous" commenters, especially the negative ones, I believe it to be an act of cowardice to so boldly state your opinion without leaving your NAME on it...and I'll leave it at that.
I would also like to thank Chris M for putting the bout together and Asim - Thanks for having me! I really enjoyed myself. You all put on a great production.
Also, Gary ("Digital") thanks for showing all of the boxers, boxing "analysts" and fans along the beltway some much needed love. I appreciate your work.
- THOMAS "KO" SNOW
PS: It was good to have my little brother Gary Russell, Jr. there supporting me. If you're reading this, thanks man.
I'm so scare! I am scare that someone will beat my ass and ko my ass. everyone expect so much from me. I am afraid. Please try to understand why I keep on fighting these bums. because I am scare! I am scare! you can call scary cat if you want but I will not fight anybody good. you guys cannot make me to fight tough guys. I am scare.
For all you Boxing guru's Jargnal is head and shoulders above these other local guys. First of all he has very good power, Anderson and Holly fought not to get knocked out, they both hit the canvas and did everything they could not to get knocked out.I see a bright future for Jargnal and hopefully the local fans do also ,he is an exciting fighter that will make some noise real soon..
To the 'Real' Thomas Snow...thanks for your kind words. Anyone who's seen you know you truly love the sport and have a great enthusiasm about your craft. I would also offer, don't even acknowledge the negativity...just do what you do and keep moving forward.
...and thanks to the AfterShock Team for all the hard work they put in...and now they're already planning for the next show!
Asim
Anonymous,
I really like what you said about Jargal and the way you said it.
Yeah...
Who are all these cowards who talk about Thomas 'KO' Snow and not sign their names... jeez!
Now if only someone with at least a 50/50 record could be brave enough to step in and fight Snow... ;^)
That was me Boxbible, KO Snow.
I bet I will knock you out boxbible
Snow... you'd probably beat me, but you won't knock me out. I'm a defensive wizard...
Just please step up the comp so we can stop hurling insults your way...
Thomas...Love your website! Glad your wannabe pseudo Snow doesn't even have the clue.
Snow... what is your rationale for not fighting anyone tough or with a winning record? It seems to be very counterproductive to your development as a potential world class prize-fighter.
Hey Boxbible?what do really know about pro-boxing? were you ever a fighter yourself? I bet you were not. That case I will KO you in less than 15 seconds. hahaha lol!
Merry Chrismas!
i would just like to add my 2cents, because thats all i got. i dont even have a bank account. boxing is all i have, i have no good educations, no job history, i got nothing going. so please leave me alone people.
wethere he fights tough opposition or not Thomas snow can throw down.
Scott Farmer
Did dana look good against bernard brown
Dana won ugly against Bernard Brown. He will be fighting at cruiserweight where he belongs...where maybe we can see him against JC Robles or W. Bailey
Asim
Asim,
I took the bait! Give me a call about Juan Carlos Robles vs. Dana Dunston. Talk to you soon.
Joe Hensley
hahaha...
will do.
Asim
to the person that said Jargal is head and shoulders above all the other local fighters his weight class you are forgetting about a couple of other guys in the area.
Also Byan moved here a couple of years ago and has had a great deal of experience outside of this area
and in his own country.I could be wrong but I would guess that he will probably suck this area dry and then move on to another area and do the same there. I hope J.D. brown or Willie Taylor has him locked down with a good contract so if he leaves and becomes something they will get their part.
Jargal lives here now but he is not from this area and I will be surprised if he's here a year from now.He is truly blessed with some punching power but he is not the superman that everyone is making him out to be.Maybe circumstances
will keep him here a while but I don't think so.
Signed : Mr Pessimistic
Pessimistic,
What does "he will probably suck this area dry and then move on to another area and do the same there" mean? You make him sound like a traveling salesman going from town to town to beat everyone put before him and stealing off into the night. Also, you make it sound like a crime that he has experience under his belt. I do believe many of our fighters have some if not more under theirs. Who are the "Couple of other guys"? Name them. Hopefully we will see them fight Jargal in '08.
Noone is saying Bayan is a superman, they are saying hey, Jargal can fight, he is an exciting fighter. Also, I doubt if someone who can't put his true identity really needs to give someone like J.D. Brown or Willie Taylor advice. Jargal's performance here in the last few months deserves the recognition and respect he is getting. He is a lot busier in the ring than some that have been here longer. I hope he stays. He is like a breath of fresh air.
He kicks ass cos he gots Genghis Khan blood and eat Mongolian BBQ...
BTW... several Mongolians did very well at the AIBA tournament in Chicago recently.
if anything jargal have lately been the most talk about boxer in va
