Charlottsville, VA junior middleweight George "War Time" Rivera scored a first-round technical knockout over Nathan Ward of West Portsmouth, OH at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg, VA.
The win is Rivera's fifth straight and raises his record to 6-1, three KO's. Ward's record evens to 1-1.
Prior to Rivera's victory, his trainer Bruce "The Hammer" Frank, made his pro debut on the card. The 47-year-old Frank fought to a four-round draw against Kenneth Carey of Wildwood, NJ. Carey's record is now 0-8-2. After his bout, Frank worked Rivera's corner.
Frank now joins Scott "Duke" Buchanan and Danny Kisner as top Beltway-area trainers who have decided to put on the gloves themselves.

It's so sad that so many small minds are posting comments. And just to clear some assumptions on George's intelligence he was always in a gifted class and on honor roll when in college had a GPA 4.0. He also won the athlete of the year award. If you don't know someone please keep your comments to yourself. George, has nothing negative to say about any of the boxers.
