Baltimore Amateur Killed in Robbery Attempt!

This sad note comes from people in the Beltway Boxing community:

Baltimore amateur boxer Lorado "Rado" Williams was shot and killed over the weekend when someone tried to rob him and two friends.

Reports say that Williams was shot in the head twice this past Friday and passed away on Saturday. There was a candlelight vigil for Williams in the Highlandtown neighborhood where he lived.

Williams was regarded as a talented boxer who worked out of a number of gyms in Baltimore including UMAR, Charm City and Baltimore Boxing. He was training in Mixed Martial Arts over at the gym on Boston Street at the time of his passing.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Lorado Williams. I'll keep you posted on any information on services.

Raydo was such a god person. He was a very good friend to have. ALways positive, trying to make new ways to make a better environment. I know he always said he would like to open up a center for the youth to get them off the streets. It wasnt his time to go, it was too soon, but God being our creator, wanted Lorado to come back for some reason. We dont know why?/ Our lives must move on, but Lorado, u will ALWAYS be in our hearts and ur spirit will live on. R.I.P Raydo. Love u always! We will see u again! Melissa
