Promoter Joe Hensley mentioned this in answer to a previous post, but let me put it as a news item.
The long-discussed matchup between Smithsburg, MD's Dean "Pit Bull" White and "The Pride of Portsmouth (VA)" Dorin Spivey is now OFFICIAL! The bout will take place as part of the Saturday, December 9 Major League Boxing card at the George Mason University Patriot Centerin Fairfax, VA. This should be a great contest!
Hensley also said that opponents for Jimmy Lange and Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson will be finalized by the end of the week and tickets will go on sale for this event soon after.

I can't believe spivey said that Dean White can't punch, I have a feeling he'll take that back after the fight.
If spivey gets the dec,it's because he's hensley's fighter not because he beat Dean.
Any word on Middendorf vs Hall and Smith vs Wagner?
One more thing to add to Joe's comments: spivey stopped Dean earlier in their careers, however both fighters are much improved these days.

People on the blog what year was the first open score cards. And where was that fight at and who was the first fighter to do so
I don't know if this was the first open scoring card, but we had a card that featured open scoring back on April 24, 1999. This was done as an experiment after the scoring controversy in the first Evander Holyfield-Lennox Lewis contest.
This was the Don King-promoted "Triple Jeopardy" card at the MCI (now Verizon) Center in DC. The three title bouts on that card had three different versions of open scoring.
The vacant IBF Junior Bantamweight title fight between Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson and Ratanachai Vorapin was the first bout and the scoring was revealed after the fourth and eighth rounds.
The WBC middleweight title bout between champion Hacine Cherifi and former champ Keith Holmes had the scores announced every three rounds.
The WBA Junior Welterweight championship bout between champion Sharmba Mitchell and challenger Reggie "Showtime" Green had the judges score announced after every round.
The experiment was seen by most as a failure and it was never used again.
