I've covered the Boxing scene in the Washington, DC/Baltimore area for 36 years. I was inducted into the Washington, DC Boxing Hall of Fame in November, 2009. I am also a feature writer for Fightnews.com. I was the play-by-play announcer on the TV series "Boxing Spotlight" which highlighted pro boxing along the Beltway. Finally Barry answered the questioned but I believe people would like them to fight here before they win a title
For whatever reason, Jason, the climate here is not favorable for the Petersons to box here.
There is a nice interview with Lamont Peterson on MaxBoxing.com in which Lamont alludes to that very fact. He doesn't give any reasons why that's the case but it just seems to be some jealousy coming from some where.
