Kisner, Lockett Drop Decisions In Atlantic City!
Tough night for Beltway Boxers at the Claridge Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ Friday night.
Baltimore, MD cruiserweight "Slick" Nick Kisner lost an eight-round split decision to Lamont Capers of Hawley, PA.
According to William Holmes of BoxingInsider.com, Kisner had moments in the bout where he was able to outwork his opponent, but he spent too much time during the fight with his head in his opponents chest and wasn’t throwing enough punches. Capers landed the harder shots in the bout and Kisner lost a point for holding in the seventh round. Kisner did get the decision on one scorecard, 76-75. However, the other two judges each scored the contest for Capers, 77-74.
Kisner's record falls to 16-3-1, six KO's while Capers broke a four-bout winless streak and is now 6-8-2.
Takoma Park, MD cruiserweight Willis "The Prophet" Lockett lost a six-round unanimous decision in a rematch against Chuck "The Professor" Mussachio of Middle Township, NJ.
Mussachio kept Lockett at bay with his jab and Lockett could not counter effectively. Holmes said Lockett did rock Mussachio with a right hand over the top in the fifth round but Mussachio won the bout with his jab and better footwork. Mussachio won by scores of 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56.
Lockett is now 14-17-5, five KO's while Mussachio, in his first bout in three years, is now 19-3-2, five KO's.

Bute Camp Makes Statement On Positive Test!
The camp of former world super middleweight champion Lucian Bute has made statements concerning his positive test for ostarine after his April 30th title bout against WBC champion Badou Jack at the DC Armory. The test was Bute's A sample.
“I am surprised and sorry about this. I don’t understand what led to this positive result,” Bute said. “I have always passed every anti-doping test that I was asked to take since I won a world title. More recently for my fight against James DeGale, in Quebec City, last November, I was tested eight times from before my training camp until after my fight. I have never taken any illegal products. I have a complete trust in my team. There will be an analysis of the B sample and I am sure that this result will be negative.”
Bute’s promoter Yvon Michel stated, “GYM has always been strongly in favor of a strict anti-doping policy to keep the sport of boxing clean. We are really surprised by this first result and we now hope that the B sample proves that the first result was wrong. Until then, we support Lucian Bute.”

Bute Tests Positive For Banned Steroid-Like Substance After April 30 Title Bout In DC!
Former super middleweight world champion Lucian Bute tested positive for a banned substance after his April 30th title bout against WBC champion Badou Jack at the DC Armory.
The WBC was notified by the District of Columbia Boxing and Wrestling Commission that Bute tested positive for the substance ostarine, which also goes by the names enobosarm and MK-2866. The substance causes steroid-like muscle growth without the side effects of steroids. Ostarine has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned list since 2008.
The bout between Jack and Bute ended in a 12-round majority draw. Jack expressed his feelings about Bute's positive findings to ESPN.com's Dan Rafael:
"This is the hurt business. You can die in the ring. It's bad. I like [Bute] as a person. He's a nice guy, but that's not cool at all. You put your life on the line every time you step in the ring and your opponent is cheating? You can die. Anything can happen in boxing.
"I hit him with some very hard body shots and he recovered from them, which I was surprised by. For him to come back that strong in the later rounds, that's what I was thinking about [when I heard about the failed test]. I thought he was an honest guy. I didn't expect that from him.
"He's still couldn't beat me even using something. I won the fight. Everybody thought I won the fight. It should not have been a draw in the first place. Hopefully it could be changed to a win."
The outcome of the bout, more than likely, will be changed to a no-decision. Bute's camp did not respond to a request from ESPN.com for comment on this situation.

Results From Springfield, VA!
Here are the results from the Left Hook Promotions card held Saturday at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA:
The main event saw Fort Valley, VA welterweight Andrew "The Doo Man" Farmer win an eight-round unanimous decision over durable veteran Joseph "Trouble" Figueroa of the Bronx, NY. Farmer was in complete control of the contest throughout the contest as Figueroa was a punching bag with feet. Farmer knocked Figueroa down with a right hand in the fourth round and went on to the shutout victory in his first bout since October of 2014. Farmer is now 19-3, seven KO's while Figueroa falls to 11-59-5, three KO's.
The co-feature saw one of the sickest knockouts this reporter has ever witnessed as lightweight Drew "Cruel Intentions" Correll of Glassboro, NJ scored a vicious first-round knockout of debuting Kenny "KO" Herbin of Reidsville, NC. Correll set up the knockout with a solid right hand that stunned Herbin about a minute into the round. Moments later, Correll landed another right hand that lifted Herbin off his feet and sent him crashing back-first to the mat with a sickening thud. Referee Todd McGovern immediately waived the bout off at 1:19 of the first round. Correll is now 7-0, seven KO's.
In a matchup for the vacant Virginia State Cruiserweight championship, Virginia Beach's Earl "The Bull" Platt won a six-round majority decision over Front Royal's Terry "T-Brick" Roy. This was a roughhouse contest as Platt lived up to his nickname charging forward against the taller Roy. Platt was able to find a home for his straight right hand to the body throughout the contest, which may have been the difference in the bout. Roy, however, did land some straight jabs to Platt's face that opened a cut above Platt's nose. Judge Mark D'Atillo scored the bout a draw at 57-57 while judges Giovanni Lemm and Paul Wallace saw the bout for Platt, 58-56 and 59-55. Platt is now 5-2, three KO's while Roy falls to 8-3-2, seven KO's.
Baltimore middleweight "Dangerous" Donald Wallace made his pro debut a successful one as he knocked out equally debuting James Smith of Danville, VA in the first round. Wallace pressured Smith and battered him all over the ring. Smith was on his bicycle throughout the round before referee Michelle Myers called a halt to the bout at 1:45.
The opening bout saw Fort Valley's Matthew "Boogieman" Bowling stop Brian Otey of Lansing, MI in the first round. Bowling dropped Otey four times before the bout was stopped at 1:34. Bowling is now 2-0, two KO's while Otey is now 0-4.
