There are three boxers from the DC Golden Gloves team who have advanced to the semifinals of the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions in Salt Lake City, UT.
At 165 pounds, Troy Isley of Alexandria, VA won his quarterfinal bout by a 3-2 decision over Quaseem Carter of New Jersey. Cortez Dunston of Baltimore, MD moved into the final four of the 201+ pounds bracket with a 4-1 win over Dante Stone of Nevada. Also, Nicholas Sullivan of Portsmouth, VA is in the semis of the 132-pound division by virtue of a 3-2 win over Brannon Terry of the Mid-South region.
