Malik Hawkins weighed in at 143.4 pounds for his eight-round contest against late substitute Andre Byrd of Jacksonville, FL on April 26th at The Met in Philadelphia, PA. Byrd came in at 143.9 pounds. Byrd has a record of 7-6-2, one KO and comes off a six-round unanimous decision loss to Maurice Lee on April 5th in Las Vegas, NV.
Also on the card, Silver Spring, MD super featherweight Suliaman Segawa will take on undefeated Gadwin "Abayarde" Rosa of Ocala, FL in an eight-round encounter. Sagawa, a native of Uganda (11-2, four KO's), comes off a 10-round unanimous decision loss to Abraham Nova on November 18th in Boston, MA. Rosa, originally from Puerto Rico (10-0, eight KO's), makes his second straight visit to the Met where he knocked out Jorge Luis Santos Guzman in the second round on February 23rd.
Segawa tipped the scales at 128 1/2 while Nova came in at 129.6 pounds.
