The bout was the main event of a GQ Promotions card.
After withstanding an early Hernandez barrage, Quigley put on a very accurate display of boxing as he went 10 rounds for the first time in his career. Quigley is now 17-0, 15 KO's and adds the USBO title to his IBA and Virginia State Welterweight championships. Hernandez falls to 16-5, nine KO's. All five of Hernandez's losses have come to undefeated boxers.

Despite Jones trying to confuse Crossed by repeatedly switching from conventional to southpaw, Crossed eventually overpowered Jones, knocking him down twice in the third round and once in the fourth before the bout was stopped in the fourth round at the 45 second mark. Crossed hit Jones with a straight right hand that dropped Jones in the fourth and Jones could not beat referee Marshall Cunningham's count. Bustos is now 6-0, four KO's.
Super middleweight Justin Bell of District Heights, MD also scored a first-round stoppage on this card, halting Erik "Candyman" Plumeri of Lockport, NY. Plumeri is 0-5-1.
Fort Washington, MD super middleweight Leo "Platinum Power" Alcanera won a four-round unanimous decision over George Sheppard of Newport News, VA. Judge Wayne Smith still scored a shutout for Alcanera, 40-36, Judge Manuel Vicens saw the bout 39-37 and Judge Paul Wallace scored the contest 38-37 for Alcanera, who is now 2-0. Sheppard is now 0-2.
Debuting Oxon Hill, MD welterweight Rashad "Code Blue" Kilpatrick stopped the equally debuting Martegus Martin of Columbus, OH at 2:36 of the second round. The bout was a slugfest as both men swung for the fences early. Kilpatrick eventually got the better of Martin as he battered him in the latter stages of the second round forcing the Martin corner to call for the bout to be halted.
The curtain-raising contest on the card saw lightweight Dante Cox of Laurel, MD win his pro debut via a four-round majority decision over Archie Weah of Norcross, GA by way of Monrovia, Liberia. Neither man truly displayed significant offense during the contest. Cox was a little more accurate throughout the bout to gain the victory. Amelia Moore Wins Women's National Golden Gloves Championship!
Congratulations to Beltway Boxer Amelia Moore who won a Women's National Golden Gloves Championship on Friday, July 14th in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Moore, a Millersville, MD resident who currently trains out of the Alexandria Boxing Gym in Alexandria, VA, won her 141-Pound title by defeating Aisling Holt of Illinois in Friday's action. Moore, who is pictured with her coach for the week, Tim Back, has made a rapid rise in the amateur boxing ranks. Moore's first coach, the late Thomas Langley, brought her to this tournament for the first time in 2014 where she lost in the first round. Two years later, Moore competed in the 2016 Women's Olympic trials at 132 pounds and advanced to the semifinals of the challenger's bracket. (photos by Mike Greenhill)
Brooklyn, MD super middleweight Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow stopped Chauncey "Grimm" Fields of Lynchburg, VA after seven rounds of competition in the main event of the Baltimore Pro Boxing card at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD.
Nicklow repeatedly walked the larger Fields down throughout the contest and broke him down with solid punches inside. Nicklow was able to repeatedly land right and left uppercuts and body punches that negated any offense Fields tried to muster. At the end of the seventh round, the ringside physicians signaled that the bout should be stopped.
Nicklow scored his second win over Fields, having defeated him by eight-round unanimous decision in January of this year at Michael's. Nicklow's record is now 27-8-3, nine KO's while Fields gets his record evened at 4-4, two KO's.
In the co-feature, Arlington, VA super middleweight "The Uzbek Warrior" Zarifbek Nishanbaev made a successful return to the sport by winning a four-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated "Dangerous" Donald Wallace of Baltimore, MD. Nishanbaev, a native of Kyrgyzstan who competed for the first time since July of 2015, was more aggressive and was able to land more power shots. Wallace's offense dwindled throughout the bout and Nishanbaev closed the bout in a very strong fashion. Judge Paul Wallace saw a shutout for Nishanbaev, 40-36 while judges Don Risher and Kenny Chevalier scored the contest, 39-37. Nishanbaev is now 3-1, two KO's while Wallace is 2-1-1, one KO.
In an upset, Newark, NJ junior welterweight Dion Richardson won a six-round split decision over Drayvontay Speed Rawls of Cheverly, MD. Richardson was able to negate Speed Rawls's quick hand speed and scored effective counters of his own. Speed Rawls landed some shots but Richardson's offense gave him the edge as judges Wallace and Risher scored the bout for Richardson, 58-56 and 59-55 respectively. Judge Chevalier saw the bout for Speed Rawls, 58-56. Richardson is now 3-1, two KO's and pins the first loss on an undefeated fighter for the second straight time. Richardson knocked out 5-0 Scott Kelleher in the first round on June 2 in Philadelphia, PA. Speed Rawls is now 8-1-1, six KO's.
The opening contest saw Ernest "Lightning Bug" Hall of Baltimore win a four-round majority decision over Tyrone "Showtime" Wright of Washington, DC in a battle of super featherweights. Neither man had a strong offensive performance as both men clinched repeatedly and did not throw a large number of effective punches. Hall did just enough to win the bout as judges Wallace and Brent Bovell scored the bout 39-37. Judge Chevalier saw the draw at 38-38. Hall remains undefeated at 3-1, one KO while Wright, who fought for the first time since January of 2015, falls to 2-3.
