'Tiger' Thompson Faces 'King' Scott October 30 In Orlando, FL!
DC Heavyweight Tony "The Tiger" Thompson returns to action as he takes on Malik "King" Scott of Philadelphia, PA in a 10-round bout on Friday, October 30 at the Venue at UCF in Orlando, FL. The bout will be shown on BounceTV.
This bout will also mark the return of Thompson (40-5, 27 KO's) competing in the United States, something Thompson has not done since stopping Maurice Harris in the third round in Reno, NV in May of 2011. In his last seven bouts, Thompson has competed in the United Kingdom and in Turkey twice and made trips to France, Germany and Switzerland. Thompson is coming off an eight-round stoppage of Odlanier Solis on February 27 in Antalya, Turkey for the WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight title, which will not be on the line in this contest. Thompson is ranked ninth by the WBC.
Scott (37-2-1, 13 KO's) has not fought since winning an impressive 10-round unanimous decision victory over Alex Leapai on October 31, 2014. Scott started his career winning his first 35 contests before battling Vyacheslav Glazkov to a 10-round draw in February of 2013. Scott's only two losses have come to current WBC champion Deontay Wilder and to Dereck Chisora. Scott was knocked out in both contests.
