Alexandria, VA 132-pounder Keyshawn Davis is the DC Region's last hope for a National Golden Gloves championship. Davis will vie for that title Saturday at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA.
Davis won his semifinal bout with a 5-0 decision over Jonathan Rubio of California on Friday. Davis will take on Adrien Benton of Cincinnati in the finals and try to be the first Beltway Boxer to win a National Golden Gloves championship since 2014.
Wilfredo Avelar of Germantown, MD lost his semifinal bout to Adam Ali at 141 pounds by a 5-0 decision. Also, Keeshawn Williams lost in the semis at 152 pounds to Leon Lawson of Florida by a 5-0 decision.
