Here's an update on the Saturday, March 30th Babie Girl Productions card at the Renaissance Hote, located on 999 9th Street, NW in Washington, DC.
Two female bouts will headline the card. WIBA (Women's International Boxing Association) Middleweight champion Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson of Ashburn, VA will defend her title against Maria Lindberg of Malmo, Sweden in a 10-round bout. Nelson (6-0-3) will be in her fourth straight world title bout going through two title draws against Teresa Perozzi in Bermuda and and her WIBA title win against Vashon Living in Fairfax, VA.
Lindberg (8-1-2, two KO's) is the current WIBA Junior Middleweight titleholder and her only loss was against Christina Hammer for the WBO and WBF Middleweight titles in 2011. This is Lindberg's third trip to the United States and her second visit to DC, having fought a draw with Ann Saccurato in May of 2004.
Also slated to be on the card is Manassas, VA featherweight "The Bolivian Queen" Jennifer Salinas who is competing against an opponent to be determined. Salinas (13-3, four KO's) is coming off a six-round unanimous decision win over Karen Dulin on October 13 in Southhampton, Bermuda.
In other bouts on the card, DC welterweight David "Day-Day" Grayton will take on Tyrone Braswell of Wilson, NC. Grayton (3-0, three KO's) is coming off a second-round TKO over Greg Coverson, Jr. on February 22 at the DC Armory. Braswell (0-5) has faced nothing but undefeated opponents and will look to get out of the first round for the first time in this contest. Also, DC light heavyweight Greg Newby will be in action against Ivan Burke of Wilson. Newby (5-0, three KO's) last fought on January 12 in Fort Washington, MD and won a four-round unanimous decision over John Terry. Burke is 0-2.
There are also amateur bouts slated for this card, which is scheduled to be videotaped for a future broadcast on Channel 50.

Why is David Graton an undefeated professional fighter with an outstanding amateur career who has even won the national Golden Gloves fighting a guy who is 0-5? Furthermore, why is Greg Newby another undefeated fighter fighting an 0-2 guy from NC.? How does one expect to sell tickets knowing the outcome weeks before the bell rings? In fact, these boxers would have faced stiffer competion if they were involved in the local Golden Gloves that is in its begenning stage right now. Babie Girl promotions is trying to help the local talent, but it is the locals who refuse to fight anyone with a pulse. I have attended several fights in PA within the last 8 months and this type of behavior would never be allowed. Teddy Atlas mentioned such on this past ESPN Friday Night fights. Thumbs up to the Boxers Academy on Tues evenings. That's where one would get there moneies worth. Gas money I speak of, for all is welcome-free.
I agree, day day and greg can get better opponents than that of the ones that is being offered. I think they both would win anyway but according to their boxing history, a better opponent can be found, especially for day day, a former national champ.
Dusty always fight people with losing record and still sell tickets
Why is there always such outrage when an up and coming fighter fights low grade talent early in there career, that's how it's done and has been done since I have been following this sport. young fighters need to gain confidence and position themselves for better fights and gain seasoning as they grow as pros. I am sure day day or Greg newby would fight anyone you put in front of them, It's just not time for that yet, They are building there fan base and following the script for success, Just Like most world champions have done.
Dusty is not on DC cards any longer because his ticket sales dropped now that Keystone fired him. He is now an oppenant fighting on others turf.
u have no idea what u r talking about. keystone and him still friends.
Anybody complaining about locals building their records obviously knows nothing about boxing, and furthermore it shows that you've never laced up a pair of gloves and got into the ring! Where's the logic in fighting tuff opponents early?
Speaking of tickets where to you purchase tickets for this event?
You can't blame the fighters for being matched up against the Wilson boys. I'm not sure who the matchmaker is, maybe Gary knows, but that person is given a budget to work with and this is probably all Babie Girl can afford. But to be honest, anyone involved with this show should get paid up front, in cash. I can't believe the DC commission let her come back after she stiffed so many people at her last event, including the main event fighter and the ring announcer!
She has been consistant with not paying but she tries to make it up anyway she can butt shes getting older know good luck
This is a black tie affair, so tickets are a little more than usual -- $50 and 65 with ringside at $150. Call 202-365-5021 for details.

The nelson Lindberg fight should be worth the price of admission all by its self. These girls are evenly matched and both come to fight with just one loss between them, This fight has potential for fight of the year in woman's boxing, could go either way.k
Why the female from B-more not fighting. Thought her and babie girl was her manager
White was never her manager, just her promoter. No word why she is not on this card. I think Tyrieshia was slated to be on a card in West Virginia but that fell through.
Just found out that Douglas will be on a car in DC on Friday, April 26. I'll have more on that card early next week.
