Update On November 2nd Card In Oxon Hill, MD!

A few updates on the TGB Promotions card that will take place on Saturday, November 2nd at the MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD.

Undefeated Capitol Heights, MD bantamweight Antonio "Another" Russell now has an opponent for his 10-round bout.  Russell (15-0, 11 KO's) will take on veteran Samuel "Panterita" Gutierrez of Saltillo, Mexico (16-25-6, six KO's).  Gutierrez is winless in his last six contests, including an eight-round unanimous decision loss to Shawn Simpson on August 31st in Minneapolis, MN.  This will be the second trip to the Beltway for Gutierrez -- he lost an eight-round unanimous decision to Dylan Price on July 27th in Baltimore, MD.

By the way, the bout for Antuanne "The Last" Russell against Juan Huertas is scheduled for 10 rounds -- the first time he has competed in a scheduled 10-round bout.

"Y.G. Pat" Patrick Harris, an undefeated super lightweight from Hyattsville, MD, has a change in his opponent for his eight-round encounter.  Harris (17-0, eight KO's) will now face Joaquim Carneiro of Sao Paolo, Brazil (25-11, 23 KO's).  Carneiro looks to bounce back from his fifth-round TKO loss to Ivan Golub on August 1st in Monroeville, PA.

We are also hearing that undefeated DC welterweight Shyngyskhan Tazhibay (8-0, two KO's) has been added to this card.  No word yet on Tazhibay's opponent but this will be the first action for the native of Kazakhstan since October 27th of 2018 when he defeated Juan Rodriguez by six-round unanimous decision in Fort Washington, MD.  Also, according to BoxRec.com, featherweight Cobia "The Soldier" Breedy of Hyattsville, MD is no longer on the card.

The main event bout between WBA Super Featherweight champions as Javier "El Abejon" Fortuna of Braintree, MA by way of the Dominican Republic will challenge Jesus "El Jinete" Cuellar of Buenos Aires, Argentina will be a 10-round encounter for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Lightweight title.

The co-feature bout will be a 10-round encounter between interim WBA Super Welterweight champion Brian Carlos "El Boxi" Castano of Isidro Casanova, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Wale "Lucky Boy" Omotoso of Los Angeles, CA by way of Lagos, Nigeria.  Castano (15-0-1, 11 KO's) comes off a 12-round split decision draw against Erislandy Lara on March 2nd in Brooklyn, NY.  Omotoso (28-4, 22 KO's) last fought Curtis Stevens and knocked him out in the third round on August 3rd in Brooklyn.

In a 10-round featherweight encounter, undefeated Ranfis Javier Encarnacion of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic will battle Emmanuel "Veneno" Dominguez of Aguascalientes, Mexico.  Encarnacion (16-0, 12 KO's) comes off a second-round TKO over Jose Bustos on April 27th in Las Vegas, NV.  Dominguez (26-8-2, 18 KO's) is riding a two-bout winning streak including a third-round knockout of Jose Roberto Gonzalez on June 8th in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Houston, TX welterweight "Cowboy" Ryan Karl will be in a 10-round bout against Bergman "The Snake" Aguilar of San Jose, Costa Rica by way of Nicaragua.  Karl (17-2, 11 KO's) scored a first-round knockout over David Morales on June 29th in Houston.  Karl has a victory over a Beltway Boxer, winning an eight-round unanimous decision over Kareem Martin in Flint, MI in November of 2017.   Aguilar (15-5-1, five KO's) scored a fourth-round TKO over Eliecer Lanzas on July 17th in San Jose, Costa Rica.  This will be Aquilar's second trip to the MGM National Harbor Casino.  Aguilar lost a six-round unanimous decision to Patrick Harris on March 24th.

In a very interesting eight-round contest, light heavyweight Osvary David Morrell of Minneapolis, MN by way of Santa Clara, Cuba will take on Quinton Rankin of Charlotte, NC.  This is interesting because Morrell is competing at the eight-round plateau after only one pro bout.  Morrell's pro debut was scheduled for six rounds but he only needed one, knocking out Yendris Rodriguez Valdez on August 31st in Minneapolis.  Rankin (15-6-2, 12 KO's) looks to bounce back from an eight-round unanimous decision loss to former world champion Chad Dawson on June 29th in Mashantucket, CT.

Undefeated Springfield, MA welterweight Anthony "ATV" Velazquez looks to keep his perfect record intact by facing Michael Crain of Smyrna, DE.  Velazquez (7-0, seven KO's) scored a fourth-round TKO over Vincent Floyd on August 17th in Springfield.  Crain (3-3, one KO) has not fought since winning a four-round unanimous decision over Dontre King in September of 2018 in Hockessin, DE.

In another bout, Paul "The Punisher" Kroll of Philadelphia, Pa will take on Farhad "The Puncher" Fatulla of Salt Lake City, UT by way of Azerbaijan.  Kroll (5-0, four KO's) went the distance for the first time in his young career, winning a six-round unanimous decision over Shinard Bunch on August 10th in Philadelphia.  Fatulla (1-3) suffered back-to-back losses to Beltway Boxers in his last two outings.  In his last contest, Fatulla lost a four-round majority decision to Cornell Hines on January 18th in New York City.  Prior to that bout, Fatulla lost a four-round unanimous decision to Keeshawn Williams in September of 2018 in Philadelphia, PA.

On Saturday, the doors to MGM National Harbor Casino will open at 6 PM ET and the first bout is scheduled to begin at 6:10 PM.  There will be preliminary contests that will air on FS2 starting at 9 PM followed by the FS1 telecast that will get underway at 10:30 PM.
