Three, Maybe Four Beltway Boxers Head To Brooklyn April 21st!

There will be three, possibly four local boxers on the card that will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, April 21st.

We already know that one of the televised bouts on the card will be the battle for the vacant WBA Super Featherweight championship between former IBF Super Featherweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis of Baltimore, MD (19-0, 18 KO's) of Baltimore, MD and former WBA Featherweight titleholder Jesus Cuellar of Buenos Aires, Argentina (28-2, 21 KO's).  That 12-round bout will be shown live on Showtime.

Three other Beltway Boxers are scheduled to be on the undercard.  Capitol Heights, MD super lightweight Antuanne Russell will be in a six-round contest against Andrew Rodgers of Elkhart, IN.  Russell (4-0, four KO's) comes off a second-round TKO over Kasean Freeman on March 3rd at the Barclays Center.  Rodgers (4-2-1, two KO's, one NC) is winless in his last four bouts including a six-round unanimous decision loss to Josue Vargas on June 20th in Las Vegas, NV.

Also, Washington, DC welterweight Shyngyskhan Tazhibay will battle veteran Justin "The Vodou" Savi, a native of Cotonou, Benin who now lives in Silver Spring, MD in a four-round encounter.  Tazhibay (5-0, two KO's) last fought on August 12th and won a four-round unanimous decision over Robert Hill at the Howard Theatre in DC.  Savi (31-15-2, 21 KO's) has lost three of his last four contests, including an eight-round unanimous decision loss to Jonathan Navarro recently on April 12th in Indio, CA.  Tazhibay will be the third straight undefeated boxer Savi has faced.

Originally, Richmond, VA middleweight "The Chosen One" Immanuwel Aleem was slated to be in a 10-round bout against Daniel "Tocado" Echeverria of Durango, MX.  However, the most recent information on this card does not include this contest.
