Hernandez Harrison Faces LaManna For Vacant USBA Welterweight Title September 15 in Philadelphia; Odom Lands Co-Feature Spot On Same Card!

Two Beltway Boxers will be involved in important contests on Thursday, September 15 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

In the main event, undefeated Washington, DC welterweight Dusty Hernandez Harrison will face once-beaten Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna of Millville, NJ in a 10-round contest for the vacant USBA Welterweight title.  The bout will be televised by CBS Sports Network.   Whoever wins the bout should crack the top 15 world rankings in the IBF.

Harrison (29-0-1, 16 KO's) last fought on May 13 at the DC Armory and battled to a 10-round split decision draw with Mike Dallas.  LaManna (21-1, nine KO's) is on a five-bout winning streak that includes a first-round TKO of Engelberto Valenzuela on July 22 in Atlantic City, NJ.  LaManna's lone loss came to Beltway Boxer Antoine Douglas by sixth-round TKO in March of 2015 in Westbury, NY.  LaManna was a middleweight at that time.

The two have some history as they have sparred with one another as far back as 2014.  Here is a picture of the two young men after a sparring session (LaManna on the left, Harrison on the right -- photo courtesy of Keystone Boxing).

The scheduled eight-round co-feature will also have a local boxer as super middleweight "The King's Son" Jerry Odom of Bowie, MD will take on an opponent to be determined. Odom (14-2-1, 13 KO's) recently scored a big bounce-back victory by scoring a third-round TKO win over Julius Jackson on July 22 in Mashantucket, CT.
