Baltimore, MD middleweight Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow returns to action on Sunday, June 21 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, NV for an eight-round contest against Ronald "The Thrill" Gavril of Las Vegas by way of Romania.
Nicklow (24-6-3, eight KO's) will be trying to break a three-bout losing streak that includes an eight-round unanimous decision loss to DeCarlo Perez on May 8 in front of a nationally-televised (ESPN2) audience in Philadelphia, PA. Gavril (12-1, nine KO's) bounced back from suffering his first pro loss in March by winning an eight-round unanimous decision over Oscar Riojas on April 30 at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.
This bout will be on the undercard of the Rances Barthelemy-Antonio DeMarco bout that will be shown on CBS Sunday afternoon. The card is co-promoted by Mayweather Promotions, who handles Gavril. There is a possibility this bout might make the telecast that begins at 4 PM ET.
