BATB has learned that the location for the Baltimore Boxing Renaissance weigh-in on Friday, June 19 has been moved.
The weigh-in was originally scheduled to be at the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, MD, however, because there are some underage boxers on the card (you have to be 21 to enter the casino), the weigh-in could not be held there.
The new location will be the Elite SFN Gym, located at 9190 Red Branch Road in Columbia, MD. The weigh-in is still free and open to the public. Former Undisputed Heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman is still slated to make an appearance and the event will begin at 6 PM.
Once again, the card will be Saturday, June 20 at Martin's West in Woodlawn, MD. The main event will be a 10-round rematch between undefeated six-time world champion Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson of Ashburn, VA and Kita "Ready-Made" Watkins of Fort Worth, TX. Nelson (14-0-3, one KO) defeated Watkins (7-12, one KO) by unanimous decision on the last Shawstyle Promotions/Shabazz Brothers card at Martin's West on March 20. Neither boxer has fought since the last meeting.
