Baltimore, MD welterweight James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson will have the biggest bout of his career on Friday, August 8 when battles fellow undefeated boxer Samuel "The Who Can Mexican" Vasquez of Monessen, PA for the vacant USBA Welterweight championship at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
Stevenson (21-0, 14 KO's) is coming off a third round TKO victory over Andre Baker on March 1 in Lynchburg, VA. Stevenson has knocked out his last three opponents.
However, Vasquez (15-0, 11 KO's) is on a six-bout knockout streak with those knockouts coming against some very quality opponents including previously undefeated boxers Juan Rodriguez, Jr. and Berlin Abreu. In his last outing, Vasquez scored a third-round TKO over Jay Krupp on June 6 in Verona, NY.
