Nelson, St. John Meet For Final Presser Before May 17 Title Bout!

If the two combatants have their way, the WIBA Welterweight Championship bout between titleholder Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson and challenger Mia "The Knockout" St. John will be a battle of will vs. experience.  The two will clash on Saturday, May 17 at the Ernst Center on the campus of Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, VA.

At a press conference held at the All-American Steakhouse in Ashburn, VA, hometown champion Nelson (8-0-3) told the press and her fans that, although she hasn't had nearly as many fights as her opponent, she has the heart necessary to retain her title.

"My will, that will be the difference," Nelson said.  "I want this fight really bad and the championship is staying home."

St. John (47-13-2, eight KO's), who lives in Oxnard, CA, said the fact that she has been in many pro fights with the biggest names in the business will be the biggest factor.

"I have the experience," St. John said.  "I've been in there with Holly Holm, Christy Martin, Cecelia Braekhus. I've been with the best.  That's my biggest advantage."

The bout is scheduled for 10 two-minute rounds.
