BATB has received quick results from three of the bouts at the Boonsboro Ruritan Club in Lynchburg, VA tonight. These results come with no details.
Scott "Cujo" Sigmon, in front of his home crowd, scored a 10th round TKO over Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow.
James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson won by third round knockout over Andre Baker.
Jeremy "The Truth" Trussell scored a first-round TKO over Jeremy Boardwine.
We'll add to this once details come in. We will also post the results from tonight's Golden Gloves session on Sunday morning.
This was a good show. Nicklow and Cujo fought hard. It was back and forth all the way. In the 10th Nicklow was exhausted, defenseless, and hurt. Cujo stopped hitting him and asked the ref to stop the fight.
ReplyDeleteThe undercard was good too. Nobody just laid down. The MMA guys who fought on the card lacked boxing skills but they were conditioned and tried to win. The show was good entertainment and that will bring the crowd back next time.
You're wrong about the show being good entertainment and that will bring the crowd back next time. You're not wrong about the good show part, I'm sure it was a good show. The crowd will come back because Cujo sells tickets. He hustles on the phone all day and sells tickets. I heard the undercard guys sold tickets too. THAT'S what brings the crowd back. If phone calls weren't made, if tickets weren't hustled and sold, 1/2 the crowd wouldn't come back. I dont' know why that is, it's just the way it is. Take it from somebody who knows.
ReplyDeleteHearing rumors that Sigmon will be meeting Henry Buchanan at 168 in April
ReplyDeleteAwesome show last night. Every bout was good. Once again Jeremy "the Truth" Trussell demonstrated his power.
ReplyDeleteNicklo and Cujo fought hard . Hey Cujo, Call Jeter out.
ReplyDeleteJeremy "The Truth" Trussell scored a first round TKO over Jeremy Broadwine bringing his record to 8-0 with five first round knock outs. Prior to the fight, Broadwine, a former MMA Pro fighter was vocal about how boxing is not fighting and his lack of respect for it. After getting beaten and knocked around in the first round, I do believe he has changed his mind. Trussell turned up the heat and the fight was stopped at 2:47 in the first round.
