A number of Beltway Boxers weighed in for the Saturday, March 1 RBA Promotions/Club Toe-to-Toe Promotions card at the Boonsboro Ruritan Club in Lynchburg, VA.
Baltimore's Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow (24-3-3, eight KO's) and Lynchburg, VA's own Scott "Cujo" Sigmon (23-5, 12 KO's) both weighed 160 pounds for their 10-round rematch.
Also, James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson of Baltimore (20-0, 13 KO's) hit the scales at 147 pounds for his six-round contest against veteran Andre Baker of Lumberton, NC (10-39-2, two KO's). Baker came in at 146 1/2.
Baltimore's Jeremy "The Truth" Trussell (7-0, five KO's) weighed in at 167 pounds for his four-rounder with the debuting Jeremy Boardwine of Lynchburg. Boardwine, who has had a number of MMA bouts, came in at 170 1/2 and will have to lose a couple of pounds to get to the super middleweight limit of 168 for this contest.
I think James is a very good figher and he is 20-0. He doesn't need to fight these 11-42,11-32 and 10-39 kind of guys anymore.
ReplyDeleteDon't you want to get tested and see how good you real are?
Look at this guy Lomachenko who is fighting for a title tomorrow night. This kid is confident and want see if he can beat the world champion. Big balls !!
lomachenko is only 1-0
ReplyDeleteJames def needs higher quality opponents
ReplyDeleteI remember when Sigmon was bad mouthing Justin Ridgway and Ridgway went to Lynchburg and called him out in front of his hometown crowd and Sigmon withered up like a little puppy and never bad mouthed Ridgway again.
ReplyDeleteLomanchenko also was a two time Olympian I think, that's what he is fighting like this.
ReplyDeleteJames is a good prospect being built properly
ReplyDeletethat's weird I wonder why a cruiserweight with like 5 career fights would be calling out a boxer fighting at 160? Smart of Sigmon not to respond to a punk
ReplyDelete"Keep'em Sleepin"
ReplyDeleteHey Brian, ima give you a more detailed description of Lomanchenco;Olympic Gold Metalist in 2008 and 2012.He has close to 400 amateur wins and only ONE(count it!!) loss.He avenged that ONE loss TWICE!!He also has several amateur world championships under his belt.Apparently the guy can fight and his management team knows it for sure.
ReplyDeleteJames Stevenson has not fought on a consistent basis and this has not helped his cause. Yes, James is talented but he has not been tested. Time to step up a little.
ReplyDeleteI think that was my point on the Russian kid. Plenty of experience, and why rush jame
ReplyDeleteVasyl Lomachenko is Ukraninan and went 396-1 as an armateur and won two olympic gold medals and two world championships and avenged his only loss twice. James might need to be pushed a little more because he is already 30 years old, don't wanna wait till it's too late. It's not like he is young like Dusty who is only 19 and has plenty of time to develop. If he waits much longer he will be past his prime.
ReplyDeleteOh,....so now you got afterthoughts Brian??Say what you mean and mean what you say.Bottom line,.....to talk about Lomanchenko and Stevenson in the same breath is like mixing apples with oranges. Resume and management are the keys to their success!!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't compare them at all someone made reference to Stevenson stepping up like the Russian and I was saying why should he,
ReplyDeleteStevenson may just as well step up asap,......I believe the move would make him better; he has adjusted to winning sparingly of late but he's a grown man, get it in James and keep going from there Champ!!
ReplyDeleteTheres nothing smart about Sigmon but his mouth. Ridgway was 165 pounds at the time and only had one fight and that was a win over a guy that was 0-4.The point being made here is this guy has a lot of mouth when he can pay opponets off but when the threat of a real fighter confronts him he cowered up like a bitch on the rag. This guy is a pretender not a contender and is taking advantage
ReplyDeleteof the people of his area by making them think he is something he's not. If you come back with another response like the previous one I will tell everybody about the conversation in the hotel room and the money that exchanged hands you coward.
"Oh,....so now you got afterthoughts Brian??Say what you mean and mean what you say.Bottom line,.....to talk about Lomanchenko and Stevenson in the same breath is like mixing apples with oranges. Resume and management are the keys to their success!!!!"
ReplyDeleteYou got serious reading comprehension problems. Brian said something...and then you basically repeated him in an attempt to try to prove him wrong. Not realizing that you were saying the same thing.
Butt out,...apparently you don't have a boxing IQ to speak of,......

Maybe they call him James "keep em sleepin' cause he gonna fight bums forever and he gonna keep the crowd sleepin'! "keep em all sleepin'!!!
ReplyDeleteEnglish major? Rocket scientist? Fired by Keystone for sure!
ReplyDeleteFired by keystone certainly, still busy for sure, still getting it done absolutely.
ReplyDeleteIf at first you don't succeed try, cry, fry again!!!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if last comment was for me but, I dont try anything I do it and quite well. Cry sure I was annoyed and befuddled for being let go and given no reason, and fry I love me some fried foods
ReplyDeleteOnce bitten,twice shy,three strikes you're out!!!
Delete"James Stevenson has not fought on a consistent basis and this has not helped his cause. Yes, James is talented but he has not been tested. Time to step up a little." This statement is true and cannot be disputed.
ReplyDeleteI heard that James "keep em bored" Stevenson's last opponent got knocked out in his last boxing match against a guy who didn't even have any arms!
