Womack-Polischuk Rematch Added to March 7 Rosecroft Card!

The Keystone Boxing card on Friday, March 7 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD has a very nice addition to it -- a rematch to one of the more exciting bouts of 2013.

Local welterweights Kevin "The Scarecrow" Womack, Jr. of Baltimore, MD will face "The Baby-Faced Assassin" Yurii Polischuk of Lanham, MD in a six-round rematch of their spirited four-round draw of November 23 in Baltimore.

In the first bout at the Patapsco Arena, the two men had solid moments -- Womack landed very well to the body while Polischuk sent solid shots to the head.  The contest was an extremely even contest and, as we said then, it begged for a rematch which we will get on March 7.

Womack (4-3-1, two KO's) has fought one time since the last meeting with Polischuk, losing a four-round unanimous decision to Semajay Thomas on the Lamont Peterson-Dierry Jean undercard on January 25 at the DC Armory in Washington, DC.  Polischuk (2-1-1, one KO) has not fought since the Womack contest.

Unfortunately, one other All-Beltway contest slated for the March 7 card has been scrapped.  The bout between Zain Shah and George Armenta will not take place as Armenta will not be able to participate.  No official reason was given.

Tori Nelson vs Cecilia Braekhus for Nelson's WIBA, Braekhus's WBC/WBA/WBO and undisputed women's welterweight champion of the world needs to happen on either Keystone's June 12 or July 25 card or undercard of Dusty Harrison's return to DC in June or undercard of Jimmy Lange's return to Patriot Center in June.

Armenta Shah could have been a fun fight.

Torry Nelson should try too get on the convention center card. Armenta is done and has been for a long time, NO HEART.. Why would Polischuk fight womack? Dangerous fight. Could be early career breaker.

Gary, what happened to Patrick Coye? Why hasn't he fought since his explosive ko in his debut last May?

Gary Digital Williams said...

Coye got injured in training and that has delayed him. He should be back sometime soon.
