Tucker Drops Majority Decision In Main Event!

Mark Tucker was outworked and outhustled en route to losing a 10-round majority decision to Paul Vasquez in our main event tonight in Westminster.
Vasquez came forward repeatedly and pressured Tucker, putting him against the ropes.  Tucker suffered a cut along his right eye which made things even more difficult.

One judge saw a draw at 95-95 but that score was trumped by 97-93 and 96-94 scores.

Tucker loses for the second time in his career and he is now 16-2, seven KO's.  Vasquez breaks a two-bout losing streak and is now 10-4-1, three KO's.  Vasquez donated his entire purse (reportedly $5,000) to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, MD.

Here is the Post-Fight Wrap-Up:

Mark, you need too handle your business at home.

I had to leave before that main event started. Was a ridiculous intermission between zakki scotts fight and the main event, especially bc that place is in the middle of nowhere. Can't start the main event at damn near 11:30 when you are an hour away from civilization.

I left after the 6th round could not stand the effort given by Mark

Now wait a minute -- stop! Enough is enough. Lay off of Mark and his dad! They are trying to do something for their community and to bring pro boxing to an area which would never have such a thing so close to home. Never!! Why? Because Mark Tucker, Jr. and Mark Tucker, Sr. are taking a chance chasing a dream. Cheer them on if you want, laugh at them if you want. But at least they are taking the chance. You don't want to drive that far to Carroll County? Then don't go! It seems like all you bloggers want to do is to complain and put somebody down. Why is that? Bad childhood? Lousy job? Poor athletic skills? Look, Mark Tucker, Jr. is what he is: A nice kid trying to compete on the club level in a sport that he and dad dearly love. Leave them alone! Stay home if you want, but just stop complaining!

Could not have said it better myself.

Um, Mark Tucker, Jr. fought a guy who had some fairly decent boxing skills. The guy certainly had an awkward style and a winning record to boot. And all you bloggers want to do is put Tucker, Jr. down for fighting him? You guys truly are angry and miserable, I have to tell ya. I think that a lot of you really do not want to see the local pro boxing scene do well. It's a shame that we have to read your crap. Why don't you take up another sport to follow, say, badmitton, and just do us all a favor by leaving this website once and for all?

Those who DID attend last night will tell you that Mark fought back. Yeah, it was not his night, but he gave it his best. I think the other's guys awkward style frustrated Mark, but it's not like he did not land any shots because he did. Mark was humble and respectful in defeat. He will be back and I will be there to support him. If you choose not to, that is your choice. But give the kid and his dad credit for trying.

There was more action outside of the ring then inside. I have gone to all of Marks fights at the Shipley center and I want them to succeed . But that was not a good showing last night

Ya win some, ya lose some. Keep on fighting Mark. I respect a man who knows he can lose and still has the heart to fight.

Mark is a good kid, His father can be a prick sometimes. I will pay too see Mark fight again but we need a better undercard. Do it right or not at all Big Mark. That Judge that had it a draw, needs too be checked.
