Thomas Williams, Jr. to Face Former 'Next Great Champ' Griffin in First 10-Round Bout on Peterson-Matthysse Undercard in Atlantic City!

Undefeated Fort Washington, MD light heavyweight Thomas "Top Dog" Williams, Jr. takes a nice step up in opponent name recognition on Saturday, May 18 when he battles Otis "Triple O.G." Griffin of Sacramento, CA in a 10-round contest at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.  The bout will be on the Lamont Peterson-Lucas Matthysse undercard and will be shown on Showtime Extreme which will begin its coverage around 7 PM ET.

Williams, Jr., the 2012 Beltway Boxing Prospect of the Year (13-0, 10 KO's), will be looking for his  seventh straight knockout.  The last outing was a third-round TKO over Kevin Engel on March  2 in Las Vegas, NV.  This is Williams, Jr.'s first scheduled 10-round contest.

Griffin will be the most celebrated and most experienced opponent that Williams, Jr. has faced.  Griffin (24-12-2, 10 KO's) is best known for winning the Fox Network boxing reality series "The Next Great Champ" in 2004.  A former NABO and USBA Light Heavyweight champ, Griffin has lost two straight and six of his last seven.  Griffin has fought quality opponents such as Jeff Lacy, Byron Mitchell, Yusef Mack and Cedric Agnew throughout his career.

Thomas Williams wins the bout easy! Otis Vanturius Griffin has lost 6 of his last 7 bouts and is just looking for a pay-day. Thomas Williams is getting baby food right now and will be choking on his first taste of steak.
