Jeter Defeats Lange Despite Point Deductions!

Tony "Mo Better" Jeter wins a 10-round split decision over Jimmy Lange despite four point deductions during the bout.
Despite the deductions -- coming in the second for a flash knockdown and two points for low blows, one point lost for another low blow in the fourth and another in the seventh -- Jeter rose to this one and -- yes I say it -- dominated Lange.  Jeter did deserve the win.
Jeter, however, needs to thank referee Steve Smoger for NOT disqualifying him.  Most other refs would have.  The scores were 94-91 and 93-92 for Jeter and 94-91 for Lange.
Post-fight coming up!

Jimmy should not have looked that bad against a guy like Jeter. There are a lot of miles on Jimmy and he would have smoked a guy like this a few years ago - no offense to Tony. He fought -hard albeit a little dirty - but clearly won and is a marginal talent at best.

Maybe it's time for Jimmy to hang it up and save the brain cells he has left. Maybe open up a local LA Boxing or something.

Papa Lange was seen crying in the corner, it was the saddest thing I've ever seen. He even threatened to hold Tony's paycheck because he swears the score-cards were rigged. Pappe Lange showed his true colors: a yellow belly-half-queer-sissy.

Johnny Lange was scared to death of Jeter. He stayed the distance so he would not get slapped

Tony only hit Lange low because he himself was hit low. Tony won every damn round.

Jimmy Lange wasn't even man enough to show up the the post-fight press conference. Instead his father sat there like a kid who got his lunch money stolen and blamed the loss on the Virginia State Athletic Commission. He even said that he would never fight in Virginia again after this decision. Also showed no respect for Jeter by saying point blank "I don't like Tony Jeter" with Tony sitting five feet away from him. A classless act by a classless individual.

Congrats to Tony on the big win. The low blows Smoger called were borderline and not egregious fouls. There was clearly no intent on Tony's part to punch below the belt. Lange wore high trunks and most of the blows landed on the top of his cup.

Inspiring win by Tony Jeter...well deserved!

Tony Mo Better Jeter....A true champion of the world and a credit to the human race.

Tony was too strong. Jimmy took a savage beating from a fighter who never beat anyone of any substance at all. I am not sure if they can continue to sell Jimmy now that the cat is out of the bag. If the show must go on maybe the only way is to hit the road and fight in MAryland or West Virginia. Attendance seemed down compared to past shows. It is sad because I always look forward to seeing Jimmy fight. He has done a lot for boxing in the DMV.

Old Man Lange is a sore loser. He's lucky Jeter did not reach over and slap his ass at the press conference. If you look at the tape, he was about to throw the towel in several times during the fight. Jeter beat Jimmy's ass. Jimmy will never be the fighter that Tony is. They are from different cloths. Tony Jeter is Gangsta and Jimmy and Pops are a little soft.

Tony Jeter is a class act. Johnny Lange is a wannabe tuff guy who got punked tonight. I'm just glad Tony didn't pop the old man one time to show him who the reall boss is.

Johnnie Boy says he aint fighting in VA ever again. I guess not, the place was empty and they had to give tickets away. It's over.

I dont think a rematch would be any different because Tony was too strong and manhandled Jimmy in the corners. Every time Jimmy tried to go to the center of the ring where he needed to be Tony bulldozed him back to the ropes or in the corners. Sinply put Jimmy is not a middleweight. Middleweight are too strong for jimmy.

We can now look forward to the completion of the trilogy with Mike McFail

Bottom Line: Tony was deducted points for low blows and knocked down once.. Had those points not be taken, the fight would have been about 9 - 1 in rounds for Tony! 8 - 2 if you want to stretch and of course, the knockdown going to Jimmy's card. But with that said, even those rounds that had points taken from Tony, probably were closer to 9-9 since he was winning them big... Jimmy is a class act and so is Tony. They fought their hearts out and the sorry ass DMV so-called fans, didn't even come out in the numbers they should have. That place should have been sold out.

Now with the fight in the bag, Jimmy took way too much punishment and needs to retire. He may not, but no way damage to the body and head don't have latter effects on him.

If Johnnie thinks Jimmy won, he is entitled to his opinion. Do a rematch and this time, pay Jeter what he is really worth.

Mr Gary can you post the scorecards?

I may be slow at times but on my slowest day and you on your fastest day I'm still alot smarter than you.
I did not voice an opinion about the bout one way or the other, and you my friend are a lying troublemaker who doesn't know how to put together sentances and your breath smells like a sack of farts.
You are also a coward for getting on here and throwing my name into
the mix just because your jealous of my good looks and smarts.
Well fifty percent isn't bad.

Now that were on the subject of the fight I think I will give my
two or three cents.
The entire caed was well put together by Johnny,J.D.and Brian.
All the bouts with the exception
of one were very very competative and this show should by far be the show of the year on anybodys list.
I will agree with most that Jimmy didn't look his best but Tony looked very strong.Fighters on all levels have bad days in the ring.
Bottom line-Tony was at his best and Jimmy wasn't.
Tony has one of the best trainers around in Mr Langley and I wish them the best.Jimmy is a friend of mine and has brought alot to our area in the way of boxing and for this I am thankful, as much of you should be.

Just saying
