Corley To Face Maidana for Interim WBA Title!

Fresh off his solid victory this past Saturday at the Patriot Center, former WBO Junior Welterweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley is slated to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina to challenge Marcos Maidana for the interim WBA Junior Welterweight title on August 28.

To say this doesn't look like an easy one for Corley (37-13-1, 22 KO's) is an understatement. Maidana (28-1, 27 KO's) is a native of Argentina and is making the third defense of the interim WBA title. The full WBA titleholder is Amir Khan.

Good for Chop! I hope he wins and I hope he gets paid, literally! Vassily Jirov fought Jorge Castro in Argentina and didn't get a dime! Kendall Holt fought Ricardo Torres in Columbia and didn't get a dime! If Chop wins he beats a guy that's been on HBO so that should get Chop back to a big time but I hope he gets his $40,000 or $50,000 for this one. Who couldn't use that much cash?

Chop needs to bring that strap back to DC. He deserves it and from his last few fights that I have seen he is ready for it.

All I can say for Chop-Chop is: smart boxing. Your skill level is much better than this guy.

Chop looked good in his last few fights? I guess you missed the KO that had him shaking against Freddy Hernandez on Showtime.

The orgs are so corrupt because Corley doesn't deserve a title shot until he at least beats someone in the top ten. He must still be with King!

Joe H

^^^ That's not Joe H(ensley)... Don't allow the fake signature to fool you.. The REAL Joe has a REAL account with his name on it.

corley has a bout a good of chance of winning against maidana as dave holland has keeping his job, in other words, NO CHANCE AT ALL!

Thats true -- Dave H is out the door! BUT - if Chop fights a smart fight he has a chance. True hes a underdog but hes a live underdog.

who will put money on a bet that dave holland is out the door in less than 3 months? how about you fat joe? p.s. i wont accept checks from joe (fathead)hensley as his checks are often made of rubber (yes they do bounce)

i wont take that bet! but il bet you fat joe wont be able to get away with the bullshit shows he puts on once we have a commissioner that isnt suffering from senility, alzheimers and obvious dementia!

The sun comes up, the sun goes down, and Dave Holland's name is brought up no matter what the subject. Pastor Scott, help!
