In an interesting battle of former world titlists, DC's Keith Holmes will take on Kassim "The Dream" Ouma in a co-feature bout on the Saturday, May 29 Titanium Promotions card at the DC Armory. The two will battle for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization International Middleweight title.
Former two-time WBC Middleweight champion Holmes (41-5,25 KO's) is fighting for the first time since winning an eight-round unanimous decision over Willis Lockett on June 6 at the Washington Convention Center. Holmes has won two of his last four bouts.
Ouma (26-7-1, 16 KO's) is a native of Uganda who now resides in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Ouma defeated Verno Phillips for the IBF Junior Middleweight title in October of 2004 and made one defense before losing the title to Roman Karmazin in July of 2005. Ouma also challenged Jermain Taylor for the WBC and WBO Middleweight crowns in December 2006 but lost a unanimous decision. Ouma has not fought since losing a controversial 10-round unanimous decision to Vanas Matirosyan for the NABO and NABF Middleweight crowns on January 16.

Interesting. This will be Ouma's 2nd fight with Livingston Bramble in his corner. I thought Ouma beat Martirosyan in his 1st outing with Bramble.

Nobody has ever heard of this promoter, the UBO is a joke and these fights will never come off.

Good opponent for Holmes this will put him right back in the thick of things in the middleweight division. Knock Ouma out in dramatic fashion an you will see.Bleed!!!

I realize that I may not be the only Joe H on this whole blog, I am just trying to clear up any confusion that anyone may have about some of these previous posts signed Joe H. They were not written by Joe Hensley. I wish everyone involved with this show nothing but success and it looks like it's going to be a great show which I plan on attending and supporting. As far as the UBO is concerned, their Amreican Representative Macke Roberts contacted me about putting a UBO Title fight on our upcoming show. They appear to be an up and coming sanctioning body. If you don't see my name highlighted in blue with this picture beside it, I didn't say it.

Help me out Joe H as a future boxer and fan of the sport. You said the UBO contacted you about putting a future UBO title fight on one of your cards... Is that how it happens?? They contact you or do you happen to put a bid in first?? How do the title situations work?? Do they choose the fighters?? If that's the case, why are 15-0 fighters winning small title fights against dudes who are like 12-18.
The sanctioning bodies are just trying to make money, like any other business. The smaller bodies will often solicit promoters in to putting title fights on their shows. The promoter pays a fee to the sanctioning body, he gets to promote the show as having a title fight, and in theory, it generates more ticket sales and makes everybody more money.
