Congratulations to the Beltway's PAL Champions!

Beltway Boxers brought home five titles during last week's Police Athletic League (PAL) Boxing Championships in San Antonio, TX. Congratulations to:

Intermediate
114 lbs: Gervonta Davis dec. Erickson Lubin, 5-5 (11-11) (3-2)
138 lbs: Kareem Martin dec. Mark Reyes, 8-2


Seniors
165 lbs: D'Mitrius Ballard dec. Desmond Nicholson, 6-1
176 lbs: Jerry Odom dec. James Singleton, 31-3

Open Women’s
112 lbs: Tyriesha Douglas dec. Ashley Alvarado, 21-7

There is a very nice story on Tyriesha Douglas that appeared last week on WUSA-TV Channel 9 . Reporter Dave Owens gives you insight into Douglas, who is from DC and trains at Upton Boxing Center in Baltimore.

That Article on USA9. Is real foul, how and the hell her big brother had anything to do with any of her boxing. I never even knew she had a brother besides Action and Sugar Ronte, who was boxing some years with Pat before she even started boxing. Sounds like the hounds are smelling some money and starting to come out. Fake as family is always the first to act like they done something.

The article on Tyrisha has its points but does not reflect on the truth or gives credit where credit is do. Patrick Washington took care of her and her two brothers Action and Ronte for years. He got them out of foster care and most importantly kept them all together under the same roof. He introduced them all to boxing. He started Tyrisha when he was unattached and training his kids by himself. The big brother had nothing to do with boxing nor did he take care of them. I can go on and on about all the things Pat did for them and continues to do.

Please get the facts straight before you put these stories in the paper.
