Temple Hills, MD middleweight D'Mitrius Ballard has won his first-round contest at the AIBA Junior World Championships in Yerevan, Armenia.
Ballard defeated Benjamin Babaei of Iran by decision, 16-4 in a bout that just concluded in the middleweight division. Ballard will face Germany's Roman Fress in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, May 27. Fress defeated Patrick Szigeti of Hungary, 6-0.
