'Trainer of Champions' Davis Turns 65!

Normally, I don't do birthday wishes, because once you start, you have to try and do for everyone. But when a legend reaches a milestone, I make an exception. Therefore --

BATB sends its fondest birthday wishes to legendary trainer and co-owner of the Round One Gymnasium in Bladensburg, MD, Adrian Davis, who turns 65 years young today.

Davis, a welterweight boxer from 1965-1972, has trained 14 world champions during his long career including the likes of Sharmba Mitchell, William Joppy, Keith Holmes and Hasim Rahman.

More importantly, Mr. Davis, along with his wife Brenda (the First Lady of Amateur Boxing), has helped steer countless numbers of young kids on the right path to being good citizens through the Round One program.

Happy Birthday and many, many more, Mr. Davis!

  1. Gary,

I second your comments. If you are going to make an exception, you picked the right time and the right guy to do it! Happy Birthday AD!

  8. Happy b-day AD! Not to take anything from AD but he did not train SRL. Ask him yourself, he's the unofficial boxing historian of the area. He wouldn't tell you anything different. Thanks Gary for acknowledging a true trainer of champions!
