'Mayhem' Mitchell Makes Return Trip to Cabazon, CA; 'Sugarman' Smith Heads to Columbia, SC!

For the third time in his young pro career, undefeated Brandywine, MD heavyweight Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell will be fighting at the Morongo Resort and Spa in Cabazon, CA. The bout will take place on Friday, October 24.

The opponent for Mitchell (6-0-1, four KO's) will be Shidevin Brown of Denver, CO (2-3, one KO, one NC). Mitchell won an impressive six-round unanimous decision over Mike Miller on September 25 at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD. Brown suffered a cut over one of his eyes due to a headbutt against Ija Flapping Eagle in his last bout on April 5 in Caldwell, Idaho. The bout was ruled a no-contest and was Brown's first bout in almost eight years.

On Saturday, October 25, DC junior middleweight Luther "Sugarman" Smith will travel to the Township Auditorium in Columbia, SC for an eight-round junior middleweight bout against undefeated Juan Ubaldo Cabrera of the Dominican Republic. Smith (22-7-2, 12 KO's) will be trying to break a four-bout losing streak that includes his last outing, a first-round TKO loss to Charles Whitaker on March 8 in the Cayman Islands. Cabrera (11-0, eight KO's) was a member of the 2000 and 2004 Dominican Republic Olympic teams. Cabrera is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over Nilson Julio Tapia on August 16 in Panama City, Panama.
